hey guys how are ya? ok so i got 2 plants one is a dark green with broader leaves and the other is a lighter green with skinnier leaves. I am growing outside my plants dont get full light all day due to positioning but most of the day especially in the afternoon. i didnt keep track of when i planted them but it is between 2-3 months i think. i really dont remember for sure. ok so the darker plant has about 7 nodes and i topped it by cutting the main stem halfway between the very top set of leaves and the node right under that. i did that today. the other is taller and i was afraid to touch it in case i messed up something. If i am counting correctly the lighter green one has 9 nodes so far its slightly taller than the other. the dark one is 2ft tall and has been topped the other is 2.5 ft tall and has not. i have cut off a few of the leaves towards the bottom of the plants but not alot. i wish i could send pics but my cam broke so i cant so im trying to describe them as much as possibleeverything looks good but i would like some tips on topping or pruning and what i should do. they look very wispy but maybe thats how they should look it seems like for as old as they are they should look more full. if anyone has pics of plants around this stage in development i can comment on the comparison to let u guys in on some additional info

any help would be appreciated....dont bash me to death im new to growing and forums!

Mine at 33 days indoor under 3 - 26W CFL's

its only 28" tall..not bad for 33 days if u ask me.

holy fuck can i get some advice?

Well for one, what type of soil mix are u using?

Im using miracle gro potting mix, its mainly peat moss and perlite.. one of the best soil-less mixes i have ever used. Since its hydro its gonna grow a lot faster than something planted in soil.

ur plants fine, its gonna grow a lil slower bcuz its outside.

Mine was under 18/6 from seed till day 26 then i switched to 12/12...

how long has ur plant been in that pot? U should check ur roots bcuz if its root bound it will grow slowly.

keep an eye on how much you water and feed the plant...its better to underwater/underfeed than to over.

i just put them in that pot they were root bound b4 but this is a 21 qt pot...i just went to walmart and bought 3x26 watt cfl... i did not know u could grow with flourescents....

i am using a potting soil with a mix of miracle grow. now that i will be moving them inside what amount of time should i start with? i dont know if itll shock em. i wanna turn the lights on em now... it was cloudy all day with no direct sunlight ya think it will hurt them?

ill watch my watering habits though i dont think im overdoing by much if i am i usually wait a 3-4 days depending on heat

i used the 3 CFL's to vegg (18/6).

when I was satisfied with the secondary branching I went into flowering (12/12)

at that time I wired 6 more CFL's (2@42W and 4@26W) and have a total of 9 CFL's for flowering (7@26W and 2@42W)

my last grow I used 9@26W CFL's and pulled 4 oz wet (1.5oz dry) at harvest, but I harvested in sections so thats why i had such a high yeild.

and dont worry about stressing the plants by light, there are so many other things that can stress the plant worse, plus the sun light is so unpredictable with the weather and all that..so coming from outdoors to indoor shouldnt stress the plant.

just try to keep the same daylight hours//nighttime hours when u come inside....also watch out for bugs and critters that you might bring into the house.

how many plants was the previous harvest? just one? and at what point should i be stisfied w the secondary branching? also with the topping i did on one plant at like 2 feet or about 7 nodes high and i have left the 2.5 ft one alone whould i go ahead and top that or what?

3 plants harvested last grow (flowered under 9 - 26W CFL's)

I'd send it into flower when the secondary growth is at least as long as the fan leaves, just so that no fan leaves block light from those budsites.

you can either top or lst when you think its gettin too tall, but if you top it, it might still stretch on you if its too late (like week 3-6 in veg is when it usually stretches, and again weeks 2-5 or 6 during flowering so you should try to top before the stretching starts). only time i top or tie down is when the plants grow into the lights or are getting too close.

thanks for ur help cash...i have a ? regarding my lights that i bought....i bought the ones in a green and yellow package...i know those r the wrong ones...i think there full spectrum....my ? is if i veg these for like another week under these lights do u think that will be ok or should i buy the ones in the blue pack use em for a week or so and then the ones in the red pack....how much difference is there in the lights i bought and the ones i should bought?
