Tweezers And Tip Down to plant seeds?

I have seen some videos that suggested to use tweezers to plant seeds.

I've also seen that you should definitely plant tip down, because that's where the butt is, where the tap root will come from.

But do you all use your hands, or tweezers or another method?

I've always planted garden seeds with my fingers into soil, but that was for vegetables.

Just curious on this.

Thanks ☮

I stick my seeds into riot cubes and take a dropper with 5mls of water and water the top of each cube. In a propagator and dome. Once I see seedling come out I like to put the cube in a solo cup and under a light.

So you grab them with your hand?

There's no worries there?

If doing by hand should you wear gloves?

I'm thinking that the tweezers are to prevent contamination.

Yes im not afraid to touch seeds with my hands. Of course i make sure my hands are washed and dried before handling.

I have always just did the natural thing , tip up so that the natural curl would happen

Only had one struggle lately , so last one I soaked and also laid on its side and planted a bit more shallow 1/4-3/8 and win win.

Sounds like you want to wear gloves, it won’t hurt anything as long as you don’t wear latex gloves. And as stated the seedling will figure out which way is up. In nature the seed falls to the ground and figures it all out without any help.

What's the benefit of tip up,vs tip down?

I have two pairs of garden gloves, one is smoother, the other more rough with grips.

I'll just use my hands then with gloves.

I just have seen a few videos suggesting using tweezers.

But if it's not necessary, I'll plant it by hand.

Naturally the tip curls , so tip up and it curls down naturally and the root will flip and turn the seed sending it ass up.

And then the opposite, tip down cracks and curl up, then it has to figure out that I’m going the wrong way.

None, if they are below a half inch. I soak seeds overnight, push them a little over half inch into 3/4 solo cup of dampened soil, cover with a baggie and put them on a warm radiator for 2-3 days. If they stretch, fill the cup for support. The lowest setting on your light is all they need til you get beyond three finger leaves, the first node.
Edit: i push them down with a pencil eraser.

Heyas.. Yeah I remember you said to start lights at 25% for germination and 24 inches away from the light.

The manufacturer of the Maglong suggests 40% power though.

I'm going to test my par/heat levels before I even attempt to plant.

Still shooting for March 1st to start my grow.

Thanks. ☮
