You misunderstood
I mean I don't even know how to mark the pic to show ya
Thus computer illiterate
As far as that plant it has been thru somethings but the best way to learn is hands on
Save your pics start a new run then compare your smoke to the next run
BTW handling your buds can make white pistils turn brown prematurely
Good luck
I agree….there’s a helluva lot to learn and on the job is the best way.
The other 2 plants don’t look anything like that one, and need more time…..so I’m gonna let this one keep on keeping on. I’m banking on another week or two being all she needs to show me those ambers.
I must say that buds aren’t ready to chop until they have that glazed over look and they don’t quite have it.
I appreciate your input and wisdom….and hope to call on it again if needed.

Mine did the same with tiger bloom. Took forever. Not 17 weeks but just cut at 15 and could have gone another 2.
How did it turn out? Believe it or not that plant is about 2 weeks ahead of one and even further ahead of the third one.
I’m really afraid the other ones are gonna get bud rot or mold or just die on the vine because they don’t have any leaves left. But they’ve all been treated (or mistreated) the same.
I’ve never seen plants continue to spit white pistils to no end….and once they turn color they don’t recede…literally just a tangle of orange and white hairs with no end in sight.
I can learn from mistakes but I need to Know what I did wrong. Not knowing what I may have done to contribute or cause it is what drives me nuts.

It's amazing. The the wax was even better. Had an issue with density, but about to part ways with fox farms, it's just frying my stuff over and over.

my issue was probably not feeding enough. I had yellow tips from an early stage, which I’m guessing was from excess N, but was before I gave anything. Then I probably waited too long to give a suitable amount of nutrients. I could never fully gauge what they needed and how the amended soil was figuring in. Because they weren’t clearly deficient I assumed the soil was all that was needed, when I should have started feeding a bit sooner.
i have like 4 bags of ocean forest so I’ll likely use again, but do things different this time. There’s a great thread on this site that lays out several very simple ways to do a grow with OF and it’s legit.

As much as many people believe, trichomes are not the gold standard of determining when a plant is ready. Some plants won't amber and some amber early due to stressors caused by the grower such as overfeeding.

In a perfect world where the plant grows naturally without inputs from growers, trichomes would have more validity. In an indoor grow they can be a sign but they can also be completely misleading.

So I harvested the one plant….two others still in the cooker.
I chopped the plant on Sunday but earlier in the week I snipped a couple small buds w/ stems and wanted to get a feel for my drying room.
I was shocked at how small the roots were. 3 gallon pot and it grew for 18 weeks. Are these roots normal in both size and health?
Secondly, my dry room is a constant 57-58F and the RH is always between 55-62%. I figured these very small buds might take 3-4 days to dry out enough for the stem to snap but not break. Well it’s been 6 full days and they are finally feeling a little dry on the outside but the stems still just bend….no real snap.
i did weight it as soon as I picked it and it was 23grams. Last night it weighed 6.2grams.
I know a slow dry is better and that’s what I’m going for. But if it’s taking a weeks for 2 smallish buds to get ready to cure, it’ll likely take at least 2weeks or longer for the entire plant.
Does this sound normal and customary?
And don’t forget to comment on my roots…

There is some minor ones still on her …. But “ overall “ look …. IMO chop her and end it.
I figured I would ask you more directly and get the correct answer and not a dozen conflicting ones.
I harvested that plant on Sunday and it’s hanging in my cellar. It raised two questions:
First, I pulled the root ball and it surprised me at how small it was. I don’t know much about what the roots should look like but I expected more. There was a bit of very thin strands that broke off and stayed in the soil but what I’m holding is 90% of it for sure. Does this tell you anything?
Lastly, snipped a couple buds earlier in the week to give my drying room a test. It’s been exactly 6 days since I hung them and although the outside is drying the stems still just bend…no snap. The room stays 57-58F and the RH bounces between 55-62%….which I thought was ideal for a nice slow dry. I kinda thought the two smallish buds would have dried more….but in those conditions, with trimmed up plants (no large leaves and a very few small ones), how long should I count on as a minimum…..until they’re dry enough to jar or grove bag???
Thanks man for all the great info and donated time….you’ve helped a lot of folks, myself uncl

3DE67566-564B-4154-B414-9BD8A25BCC4C.jpegThose buds are from the very bottom of another plant…I plucked em to do a little trial run with my drying room. The plant (pictured) hasn’t had any white hairs for some time….it didn’t have any amber trichs either so I left it for 2 weeks. Finally a few began to appear and I’d have to search hard to find any clear ones….so I threw in the towel and chopped…..18 weeks and many mistakes.

No I wouldn't say that is a healthy root mass.

This is a 3 gallon pot with roots after harvest. It'd take way too much work to separate the medium and roots to show just the roots.

So was it poor watering practices that did a number on the roots ? Damn, that’s one part I thought I had mastered. Always let them go through a good wet to dry cycle….pots were generally light as a feather when I watered.

It'd be impossible for me to determine the issue with your roots. I don't know the details of you grow and I don't grow in soil. My plants are fed every day.

Autos generally have crappy root systems compared to photos.

Do you have the macro pictures of the thricomes? Pistils are not the best indicator. You should watch the trichomes.
