Says the brainwashed libatard parrot incapable of critical thinking . You really don't have to continue with your pathetic insecure intellectually challenged existence . Just replace the cock in your mouth with a barrel loser .
Looks like one moron has to say he was an idiot and will pay up bigly, he better hope he doesn't lose that lawsuit by the people of Ottawa for $305 million, not to mention the year in jail he's looking at for what has already been done. Even moving to America is off the table now, with having a criminal record and being on the domestic terrorist watch list.

Yep, rebels without a cause or a fucking clue, we call em losers down east. Seeya in court suckers.

Stuff that worked on Delta did not work on Omnicrom, some others that was used on Omnicrom does not work on Omnicrom 2. I doubt I would bet any money which way the virus will go.
Antiviral medications work against all variants and there will be more of them, they don't lose efficacy, yet anyway, antibodies are the ones with the issues.

Liberal in this context means freedom under the constitution and rule of law with independent courts and democratically elected representatives. That what a liberal is moron, liberal is from the term liberty, meaning freedom, if it ain't illegal it's legal, but don't abuse it because we have ways of dealing with assholes too.

If you don't believe in liberal democracy, what do you believe in?
If not democratically in a liberal society, how do you think we should select our leaders?
Loudest mouth?
Biggest cock?

Treating Omicron: Antivirals work, some antibody treatments do not
Although most antibodies were effective against the earlier variants, all monoclonal antibodies tested in the study showed a reduced ability to neutralize Omicron.

For instance, the Regeneron monoclonal antibody casirivimab effectively neutralized Gamma and Beta, but to neutralize Omicron, 18–75 times higher concentrations of the antibody were necessary.

The GlaxoSmithKline antibody sotrovimab was superior to other antibodies at neutralizing Omicron, with lower concentrations needed to inhibit it. Still, the concentrations of the drug that were able to neutralize the Omicron variant were three times higher than those for the Delta or Beta variants.

Similar to monoclonal antibody treatments, the currently authorized COVID-19 vaccines were also designed to elicit an immune response against the wild-type SARS-CoV-2 spike protein.

Consistent with the results of the present study, other studies have shown a decline in the levels of neutralizing antibodies against Omicron in individuals who have received two doses of mRNA vaccine.

These antibodies are important to prevent SARS-CoV-2 infection and at least partially explain the higher number of breakthrough infections with the Omicron variant.

Antibody cocktails

Of the three, the AstraZeneca antibody combination Evusheld was most effective at inhibiting the ability of Omicron to infect cultured cells. Yet, the concentrations of the antibody combination that could neutralize the Omicron variant were as many as 24–142 times higher than those for the previous variants.

The other two antibody combinations failed to neutralize Omicron.

Incidentally, the reduced effectiveness of these two antibody combinations — produced by Eli Lilly and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals — has led the FDA to discontinue the use of these drugs for COVID-19 caused by Omicron.

Antiviral drugs
These antivirals included remdesivir and molnupiravir, both of which inhibit the key enzyme required for making copies of the SARS-CoV-2 genome. The researchers also tested an IV version of a Pfizer candidate drug, which inhibits a SARS-CoV-2 enzyme required for the cleavage of viral proteins during replication.

The study authors tested these drugs, because Omicron has a single mutation in each of the two enzymes that these antivirals target.

They found that all three drugs were as effective against Omicron as they were against the earlier variants. The researchers caution, however, that these results from laboratory experiments need verifying in clinical studies.

“These data are consistent with results from several other studies. The laboratory studies show that the activity of several anti-SARS-CoV-2 monoclonal antibodies (casirivimab/imdevimab, bamlanivimab/etesevimab) is markedly reduced against Omicron. By contrast, in these lab studies, sotrovimab, another authorized anti-SARS-CoV-2 monoclonal antibody, continues to be active against Omicron.”

They have fewer tools than they used to.

There will be new antibodies that are broader spectrum and more antiviral drugs, also we are still using first gen vaccines and they are due to be updated by spring. Next winter should see improved boosters along more and improved treatments, many are in trial now. The point is, the drugs are less subject to losing their efficacy than antibodies and will reduce hospitalizations moving forward. Antibodies however can protect the immunocompromised as long as current vaccines and there are more on the way.

Omicron, mass vaccination and natural immunity will see the end of this pandemic and shift it into an endemic state. Provided we don't get hit with a lethal variant that is more contagious than omicron and vaccine resistant, cross yer fingers and toes on that one.

All of a sudden these clowns caused major social division, disruption and bullshit in Canada over nothing. The policy was already changing in many places when this shit started and before that the experts were predicting the end of most restrictions when the contagious nature of omicron became apparent. Restrictions have been dropping all over the world as the omicron wave passes and sometimes before. So this whole fucking thing has been kinda pointless, shutting down Ottawa over largely provincial and American policies. It kinda looks like a rally of Canada's politically homeless Trumpers and assorted lunatics who have socialized themselves into a tribe of sorts by being there or on the internet.

As an experiment in sociology, they should mass arrest them all and give em psychiatric examinations and IQ tests before release! The data might be useful for future stupidity, maybe create a "wingnut" index from it to rate future idiots.

Which was my point, we can not discount the virus if we feel we have to keep fingers and toes crossed.

Ottawa police to don batons, helmets amid protestors' 'assaultive' behavior
In a Twitter post, Ottawa Police said demonstrators were "assaultive and aggressive" toward officers moving in over the weekend to clear out the protest zone in the city.

"We told you to leave. We gave you time to leave. We were slow and methodical, yet you were assaultive and aggressive with officers and the horses," Ottawa Police said. "Based on your behaviour, we are responding by including helmets and batons for our safety."

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Monday invoked the nation's emergencies act to clear out the demonstration, which has dragged on for about three weeks as truckers and demonstrators protested a COVID-19 vaccine mandate.

"The blockades and occupations are illegal," Trudeau told the Canadian Parliament on Thursday. "They're a threat to our economy and relationship with trading partners. They are a threat to supply chains and the availability of essential goods, like food and medicine. They're a threat to public safety."

On Friday night, Ottawa Police said officers had made more than 100 arrests and towed 21 vehicles.

Why isn't this surprising?

"While he’s forbidden from supporting the protest, he’s allowed to cover the cost of fuel for other truckers to travel back west with him. He made the offer after hearing that crowd-funding money didn’t get into the hands of fellow truckers. "

Well this is gonna be interesting. An elderly indigenous handicapped women on a mobility scooter supposedly trampled and killed by a horse :o! Ya things got a tad ugly last night :(. Cops saying that’s not true and no one hurt.
it ain't true, you think that could happen and it not be on every magat news service on the planet? fox is trying to paint the truckers as some kind of Canadian saints, they would LOVE to have a martyr to deify....
oh wait..my bad...the highly trustworthy and reputable "deathmilitia" website corroborates the whole story....

It's becoming apparent that we've always been on the edge of epidemics and global air travel has turned them into pandemics that circle the globe in hours and days. We might even have gotten "lucky" with covid and omicron in particular. Moving forward we will have a more fine grained understanding of these things, it was only recently they have even been noticed in some cases.
