Don't get me wrong. I have a bunch of HLG lights now, and love them all. They're in both rooms. I just like the spread of the bar lights and have never tried one. And I was a little disappointed that you can't dim the 200. If the 200 was dimmable I'd recommend it way more.

I'm a big fan though, and still recommend your stuff all the time.
I'm still confused as to why you think it can't be dimmed? Not quite the same as just turning a knob like with other drivers but it should definitely be able to be dim when using a meanwell xlg driver like the site shows.

Sorry, not trying to beat a dead horse, but it seems like more than a few people have clarified that the output can be adjusted.

I'm a little confused why you can't dim it myself, but according to people who have tried, you can't with the driver it comes with. Maybe @pop22 can help.

It's really made for a 2x2, so you have 200 watts right there... Why would you want to adjust it when 200 watts is perfect for a 2x2??? I did it because I was curious and it took me a minute to get it back to 200... At least I think its back... That light will burn every plant in your tent with one adjustment...

You couldn't dim it though correct? So why would you think you can turn it up more than 200 watts and burn everything?

I know. I thought you said you turned it down, but didn't notice it get any dimmer, and when you turned it up it flickered. Or am I confused?

I wish you had a Kill-a-watt meter.
There's a sweet spot that you have to hit for it and it will go crazy until you find it again... And if you do turn it up,keep a fan on it, it gets hot!!!

And personally, I won't use the a type drivers, they are a pain in the ass to adjust and if you do it too many time, the plastic screw slot strips very easily. IMO. I'd just leave it as set stock.

OK. Well I PM'd Frank to clear stuff up. Apparently you can dim it, but when he turned it up past where it's set it didn't like it.

So that'll good to know, because I couldn't figure out why you wouldn't be able to.

Now I'm tempted to get one just to play with. I could replace one of the 135's I have with the 200. I almost ordered one last night, but thought I should think about it a little more first.

Ya, I'm really careful when I adjust those plastic screws. But I prefer the type B with the potentiometer way better too.
