Anybody ever use Rain Rings?

For a fully pressurised system to deliver the same to each feed you’d be better creating a delivery ring around your plants.

White is delivery ring and black is the feed to each plant.

One of the reasons I want to place the pressurized center pipe there is because it will be out of the way when larfing or lollipoping the plants. Another reason would be in case of a leak, the tray will catch it. They’re 5 inches deep.

The pressure to each pot will be equal unless the main line down the middle is undersized.
That's why I was thinking of going bigger on the feed pipe. Maybe more like 2 inch Sch 40. I'd drill the threaded nipples to the very bottom to make sure the pipe drains all the way out. I was looking at brass nipples, but then read about the possibility of it leaving trace heavy metals in the soil. ... and I can't have that. If you test hot for heavy metals, you're fooked. You can't do anything with it.

I don't care of rings. They have to be perfectly level or you'll get an uneven watering. Plus you can easily make your own customized rings for a fraction of the price. It looks like you've moved beyond the idea, but I'm putting it out there for anyone who reads this thread.
I tested it with my Growteck rings, didn't see an issue. If one side is 1" higher, it's a .04 PSI difference.

I'd think the 1 inch pipe is ok, but it depends on the flow rate. I could see other issues though like rigitity etc.
Here's a pipe pressure loss calculator. As I suspected, the chart posted earlier appears to be per 100 feet of pipe length.

I was thinking about this the other day. I don't think being level was the issue. It was how they left a dry outer area. I ended up making my own with multiple rings that worked alright.

The tilted issue was with Floraflex toppers. The toppers would become uneven from the stalks being bent under scrog nets, and the water would only drain down one side or completely overflow.

Multiple rings is what I like about growtekusa. How did you do multi ring? Picture?
Those are what BK uses. I switched to rockwool slabs for my next grow and was thinking about sitting two of the 6" rings on each slab. I'm following their IG page and saw that they have a topper for rockwool cubes coming out, but I don't really like watering slabs through the cubes. A combination of each would be pretty cool.

I'm always looking for an improvement on my own version so no surprise I've never bought floraflex imo there very poorly designed.

The growtek feeders I'd snap up in a second given the chance, they're crackers.

I put them on early so I don’t have to muck about when they head into the flower room

These are the 6” I believe, I also have the 8” too which are just a little too big for these 7.5L pots I’ll be flowering in this run.

It must be difficult to get much more convenient with such a good coverage they're top class.
Unfortunately they don't ship to the UK :-(
