A government mandate is when they come into your home and drag your ass off to be vaxxed, or jab you on the spot by law. We have employer mandates and requirements for vaccination and masks by various levels of government.

The 18 -30 YO demographic is the most vaccine resistant and they are the most socially active and like the European countries, they are the ones on the streets. A lot of this was started, organized and financed by foreigners to cause social disruption, that's how modern civil wars are fought. Cause shit and chaos to get your strong man elected who will clamp down on liberty, this was a practice run for America. About 10% of the population is unvaxxed in Canada and they have no popular support, the government can do as the wish to them.

Mandates are like defoliation debates with it having a different meaning to everyone. Not being able to cross a border or get on a plane with out a mask or vaxxed is IMO sound medical advice and don’t cross or book a flight if you can’t. As the this virus changes so will the advice from the science and medical experts. Vaccines we have now do not stop the spread but have been proven to limit serious outcome so still a very useful tool. Our health system was/is on the verge of collapse so getting vaxxed is the “smart” thing to do. Truck drivers who do not want it can drive in Canada, it’s a decision not a mandate. My employer can not force any worker to get the shot and yes we still have a few that are not, they are quite dumb as a whole. Also people in federal or healthcare settings are not losing their job, just not able to come in to work, still their choice to be paid or not. They are welcome back if they decide a paycheque is important.

The ratio is 9:1 so it doesn't look good for the dipshits when the sensible people get pissed. This is similar to the youth driven mass demonstrations in Europe, however the truck blockade has added a new disruptive element. Most of the population is vaxxed and the protestors don't really have a case or a moral leg to stand on. Nobody likes masks, but most people see the need until spring at least or until the hospitals catch a break. Policy is changing, but it will be done by governments on the advice of medical experts, not by a bunch of morons blocking streets.

Trying to clear these idiots in Ottawa on a Saturday was a mistake, wait for a week night, clear the boarders, arrest the leaders, impound the trucks and then concentrate force on Ottawa, late on a week night. We will see what the next few days bring, but they need to arrest and detain the leaders and organizers and impound the trucks involved for 60 days minimum, or just seizure for being used in a criminal act.
