The output exhaust actually go's into the DIY HRV "heat recovery ventilator" made from sewer pipe and beer cans, that captures 90 percent of the exhaust heat, so it can be recycled with the fresh incoming air.

3.5' x 3.5' sheet of plywood, free scrap panel, pallet?, etc. ($0)

Wire up 40 sockets and the bulbs to panel (wired in parallel rows, can use switch to turn off some instead of dimming), spread them out evenly.

Hang in tent and plug it in.

560 actual watt LED panel for $80+.

Best 4x4 tent LED fixture. Not even joking, haha, I don't care what anyone says here. :)
HOLY HOUSEFIRE, BATMAN. That's crazy. A for effort though.

If I was gonna do it over again I would probably grab one of these tbh:

Or two of these side by side:

Gavita 1700e has 3300 LED bulbs, and really covers a 4 x 4 area. 1700umol

If you really want to blast them a Gavita 1930e. 1930umol. Is approaching 1150w DE output. 2100umol

Palawan that light looks nice, and I like the way the heat will dissipate with this kind,,but 1,000 watts seems like a lot,, I was thinking closer to thr 400-500 watt range. I was covering the 4x4 with a 315w cmh and was getting over a gpw. My hope is to get a bigger yield w like 400-500 watts
Be careful though. A top of the line 400w led will produce twice as much light as a 315 cmh. You have been growing under quite a low light intensity and may find out you need to do things differently.

It is only 2.25g per watt. I can believe it. I have a mate that pulls those kind of numbers in a similar space.

It's an impressive yield , how to do this ? Most people are lucky to get 20 oz out of area that size - can you link me to any grow journals getting that yield out of a 4x4 : I would be personally happy to pull 30 oz out of a 4x4 , is a 650 watt Led safe to put in a 4x4 grow tent ?

Going from what shane at Migro was saying it depends upon what you are growing. If autos then you need less PAR because of extended grow time. The plants only need 25w/sqft as apposed to photos which will need more at 35w/sqft because they only have a 12 hour light cycle. Working it out at 35/sqft would mean in a 4x4 the optimum amount of light for photos is 560w for autos it would be 400w. He reakons that more than this that the efficiency drops off.

I've got a Fold-8 in a 4x4 right now. I think it's max rated at 750 watts but I run it at 80% which is around 550 watts and I've found that to be perfect for a 4x4, but even then I did get some light burn on my current grow so I'm still dialing in the distance. You'll only be able to take full advantage of a powerful light if you dial in every other aspect of the grow-VPD, temps, co2, etc. VPD is especially important if you want to get the light close without burning your top leaves. This is easy if you have a dedicated grow room, but it's HARD if you have a tent inside your house because who wants to live with 70% RH? I can't stand when the RH goes up past 50% in a room I live in, so I accept that I'll have that bottleneck in my grow. So if that's the case, there is no need to get a Gavita or some other high end fixture because you simply won't be able to get the most out of it. Check out my current grow diary if you want to see the Fold-8 in a 4x4. My first grow with it yielded 2.5 lbs, and my current grow I'm guessing will yield about 2 lb, since I'm growing 4 different strains at a time, sometimes you get a runty plant that throws off the yield. 650 watts is safe in a 4x4, but again, depending on your other conditions, you might have more success running it at 80%, which honestly is a good thing with these lights-running them below max can extend their lifespan. I'll be setting up a Mars Hydro FC 6500 (650 watts) in the 4x4 in the next few weeks once my current grow is done to compare how it does against the Fold-8.

Thank you for detailed reply , I will read your grow journal now

Bro, as a DIY'er this is freaking amazing. LOL. I built my own cooltubes back in the day, when they first came out and they worked beautifully. Also am in the process of converting this 600w MH/HPS HOOD into a dual 315w CMH. Already have one 315w socket and Ballast hooked up, now I'm just waiting on the next one! Figured I could pair the CMH with whatever LED I get during flower...

I'm looking for a new light for my 4x4 and have about a $300-350 budget. I need it to be over 500w though. Thinking about just grabbing up this Fluence Spydr 2i a friend is selling, it's 631w. Super expensive, nice light, thats normally about $1000+.... but I don't know how long it's even been used!

I'm now leaning towards the Phlizon 640w. Ah decisions decisions!!!

1 month of growth under white rose led
"LEDs Watt: 9000w"
White Rose is absolutely ridiculous. I purchased one of their last 2000w lights (which they claimed was 4000w lol) and that thing was a fire hazard just waiting to happen. SOB got so hot, you could fry an egg on it. Had my tent over 100 degrees in no time flat!

I pulled the drivers off of it and mounted them outside the tent for starters. Then, I added a shit ton of heatsink and a cpl cpu fans on top. After that, it's an OK light. But it's severely outdated technology and when put next to REAL nice diodes, the difference is staggering. Save your money.

If you're going to go cheap, go on ebay and grab up 4 of these Phillips QB's with Meanwell Drivers mounted on the back for like $40 a pop. Atleast they have good quality products and don't get hot as Hades. I was actually going to buy 3 more and make me two 400w boards for my 4x4. Now I'm kinda stuck on the bar setup... lol
