General Hydroponics ferts

Sure, and what you wrote is well-researched and thought-through.

I have done a fair bit of research of fertilizer prices, and that is fertilizers that I can actually purchase and get home-delivered.

  1. Where do you buy 200 gallon totes of GH Flora? The largest container I've found, that I can actually buy, is 10 L at more than €5 per L.
  2. 200 gallons are, if I correctly understand the archaic units of the US, about 750 L. I was talking about buying 25 kg (1/30 of that amount). No home grower needs 750 litres of concentrate.
  3. You need 3-5 times as much GH Trio fertilizer (by weight) to get to the same nutrient level compared to a dry water soluble product.
So we're actually not even comparing the price per gram/litre here. You would have to triple the price of the liquid GH products before making a fair price comparison.
Point is if someone is actually balling and growing big liquids get cheap :peace:

You can get 50# of maxibloom for $224. That's a lot of growing and nothing else needed
I have never used maxi bloom but when I read anything about maxi bloom it recommends maxi grow first for veg then maxi bloom. I am unsure WTF the difference would be if I did just maxi bloom throughout and if so at what strength / mix do I use?

This is where grower discretion comes into play.
Maxi Grow is higher nitrogen for vegetative growth. If you have compost, worm castings, or other nitrogen sources going into your soil you probably can get away with just the blood.
One product I have not seen mentioned that even blows Maxi series away is Flora Nova. Just the Bloom bottle can get you through and it can be found cheap on eBay etc. It goes a Looooong way also. 5ml per gallon is all you need. A qt might do you for the season :peace:

Flora Nova is practically the same as the other nutrients mentioned, just more highly concentrated -- and proportionally more expensive. You don't save money by using Flora Nova, but you have to buy less often.

If you can get it really "cheap", you pay maybe $20 per L, which is barely on par with Jack's or Masterblend (both quite expensive as well). However, Jack's/Masterblend (or some affordable equivalent) gives you the option to steer the N:K ratio throughout the grow, and their formulas come with Ca+Mg, which is not the case with Flora Nova (GH recommends CalMag).

I guess if you don't need Ca/Mg and don't grow a lot, Flora Nova can be quite convenient, but it does not look like a silver bullet that blows anything else out of the water.

Notice the brown component of Flora Nova? It is has a lot more good stuff in it than the powders your mentioning. I have ran Flora Nova start to harvest in DWC, coco, and soil with NO Cal-mag.
Growing outdoor in the the ground there is no need for Cal-mag unless your doing something wonky like using RO water :peace:

Thanks I will look into this flora nova, It is outdoor and I have added # 4 grow mix and some sand as the soil itself is fairly clayish so it helps and it holds moisture just enough. I do add worm casings around plants or have last year. Water = well water / farm water

If you are Outside..If you fix your Holes right you don't have to have all that it is already there..Hole prep is number 1 on getting a good crop without all that stuff. When i pull mine up within a month i have the holes working for next Spring. Here the less you have to go to your plant the better...Once i know what it is i will put out and no need to go again unless no rain other than that i don't see plants but a few times a season. It would be nice in the yard to take care of..But Still Gorilla Grow...

It;s on my own property and under medical for personal use license so not gorilla grow, also I prepped all soil as in a garden not holes. I get why you say prep soil and that is what I am trying to do but also want to not have to add anything more then ferts and some water now and again as needed but that's the part IDK is how often to fee when outdoor and what to use. So far the Flora nova and also the Jacks stuff sounds pretty good, along with the maxi bloom. I am unsure which one is best but I guess I will have to try one and see WTF happens.

outdoor don't bother finding special fertilizer dome regular 20-20-20 and 15-30-15 works great and maybe cal mag if needed.
