I let my bubba trouble pretty much just go natural with taking out just the really big shade/water leaves and the lowers seemed to do just fine. I didn't leave much down deep though, I lollipopped them below where the lights weren't going to be pretty strong. I fought the same urge to thin them out all thru flower too. Good luck making up your mind.

If you're not getting light burn at the tops I'd have been there already but I only have 425 watts to cover my 4*4 and they're COB's so the distribution isn't the greatest. Right under the fixture is amazing but 8" out to the sides and eh not so much. I usually run 325 watts during flowering with autos as long as they are happy with it.
