Budget friendly odour control

Hey peeps

What is the best way to control odour? fairly new to growing, well, just over a year now but this is the first grow that is really stinking the place up. I had an unrelated delivery today and the delivery guy said 'nice smell' with a cheeky grin as he was leaving lol nightmare. So i need to get this under control

I have such a sensitive sense of smell but i think its got to the stage now that i am used to it? does that happen? because i can only smell it sometimes. I usually try to have a smelly wax burning at the front door or have a bottle of something smelly to spray before i open the door but i need to get this sorted for the long term

Been looking at carbon filter kits online but what do you guys use?

Yeah im definitely going to get one ordered. Ive been watching some videos on how they work and how to install them. I guess my question is if there is much difference in the more expensive ones to the amazon or ebay jobbies.. and if there are any other tips or tricks you guys do to keep your house smelling good and fresh? are those gel balls worth it? and plug ins?

having a look at the kootenay filters now. I did see a good deal for a mars hydro kit, which is more on the expensive end but i am leaning to it, only because i know its a brand i hear in growers mouths a lot

Check the carbon weights to get an idea which will last and filter best.
You really do get what you pay for w filters. Just depends how important it is to you.
For me no smell is the first and most important rule.

Usually if your able to control the airflow so its drawing filtered air out of the tent or room to a selected area wich will cause a drawing of fresh air into the tent or room at a controled rate all moving one way an out through the filter you will have the issue of escaping scent under control. This is how every one normally is able to have control of any smell problems. So you wont have air an smell just drifting out every were uncontrolled.

Yeah some cheeper filters are only good for one grow, some will go about 3 grows. The better ones usually last a while an you can get some that are refillable. Then with extractor fans you can get cheep ones that hardly move any air an cant really be used with a carbon filter because they arnt powerful enough. Then you get some that move decent quantities of air per cubic ft a minute an some will have two speeds wich are good for winter or summer an can be changed when the temperatures are warmer in summer to the higher setting. An to the lower setting in winter. Some extractors have complete fan speed control, eg 10%, 20%, 30% ect . Sometimes your able to control the noise as well with this function. But the more higher priced extractor fans come with some form of noise control via boxing, tubing or insulting. You can also get exctactor fan ducting that comes with noise control too via insulation. Normally a bigger powerful fan will make quite a bit of noise. Ive seen big industrial use ones that sound like a jet engine. So the features, power, quality an sound proofing is were the prices go up. Normally its best to buy a complete kit as the ducting, fan an the right carbon filter for the fan will come matched up. Because not every carbon filter is sutable for any fan the specs have to be matched up otherwise you will have leaking smell issues or your fan, or you might have issues with the fan overly working the filter or not being powerfull enough to actually pull air through the filter.Work out the size of your grow space, then look up how many complete air exchanges per hour are recommended for growing your type of plants an get the extractor kit suitable for that. Then decide how much the noise factor will be a issue for you an buy accordingly. Hope that helps some

Ps . In the days of using hid lighting there was alot of added heat to deal with too, so these systems also helped keep the temperatures in check. This isnt so much of a issue with led lighting.

This has nothing to do with affordable odor control, but can you believe that this room has no smell at all? (previous grow). I can have my Yeti cup in the room for a few hours doing some work, and the water tastes fine in the room, but when I leave the room, the water in the cup tastes like straight weed. AirROS works like nobody's biz.

I've done it. Before we were sealed up and running CO2, the delivery driver would be like "hey!, dont forget about a brother!"... I said "don't you guys get tested?".. he was like Nah..... next package that came, I returned him a package. He's never been late for a delivery since that day.

I did think of giving him a bit after the fact.. If i ever see him again i will, for sure. A lil free nug can really make someones day haha

I think i will invest in a good filter kit. It really is quite an important factor for me all things considered.. crazy to me that there is so much fuss over people growing a plant. My neighbours are pretty cool but i dont want to be invading their nostrils constantly either. They definitely know i smoke so hopefully they dont notice any difference this past while...

Think i will try out the gel balls and plug-ins too, just to see if it helps
