First time cloning

I appreciate the feedback from everyone! I’ll implement some of the tricks and tips listed here on the next round. Should I let these be and give them time to root or just scratch these and start over? They don’t look too bad but I don’t want to be wasting my time either. Trying to get a perpetual set up going. Again, thanks everyone.

I did a lot wrong on my first and only. No rooting hormones whatsoever. I basically stabbed it into some moist happy frog in a solo. Put a clear solo over it. I placed it on a metal dish on a heating pad. No special lighting. It sat on the floor of the tent next to the bigger ones and I guessed the light wouldn't be too intense at that distance. I did clip the leaf tips. I did scrape the stem. Had roots at the bottom of the solo in about 2 weeks or maybe a little more. It never wilted in the least. Even the clipped leaves are still prospering. Sprayed a few times to keep it fogged. I removed the solo dome several times along the way for short periods. When it began to look unhappy I replaced it. Maybe beginner luck on my part. I'm sure hormones promote a speedier rooting but obviously not a requirement. This is by no means a how-to but is a testament of the will to live even in less than ideal conditions. Keep at it.

So I checked on the clones again this morning and I still don’t see any roots popping from the bottom or sides on any of them. I tugged on the stems slightly and felt some resistance and I read that means roots have begun to develop. Could I put my rockwool cubes in solo cups and just water regularly from here? The roots will eventually grow out right? I need to go ahead and get some more girls vegging before my other tent is ready for harvest and I don’t want to pop new seeds, thanks guys

Also most are wilting but the rock wool feels dry too, since they’re rooting could they be wilting because the roots need more water? I have some 10 ml pipettes, could I drop a few drops on the cubes to get them back moist?

Just dip a corner of the RW in water it will wick in.Too much water will slow the root growth.
Or flip upside down and drip some water on the bottom, make the roots reach for moisture.
Be patient they'll show roots soon.

Got you, thanks for that Myke. Same ph for water? I soaked cubes in 5.8 when I first took cuts

Stop fucking with them. Stop tugging on them. Stop looking at them.

If you want them to root give them time.

That’s what I’m doing, it’s been 2 weeks. They look crispy and wilted so I had no choice but to fuck with them. If I would’ve left them alone in dry rock wool they would be dead no?

Got it. Thanks a lot! And so I’m guessing just wait to move to solo cups until roots show?
I’ve put them in solos before with no roots show. Water the soil first then drop the clone. You don’t want a soaking wet rockwool cube.

Hmm. They shouldn’t be crispy. Wilted because lack of humidity maybe?

You've been making sure the rock wool is moist and not wet the whole time, no?

Cool, and honestly there was maybe one crispy clone, the others are just really wilted with limper, flappier leaves, the humidity decreased on its own to about 60 rh

I soaked them and flicked them until no more water came out, they were never soaked just moist. That was 2 weeks ago, I haven’t added any water to cubes since, just sprayed leaves a few times to keep humidity up in the beginning

And yet you were told to spray the dome not the plants as it slows rooting
