I swear by flood and drain hydro, but if I could start over again, I might try hempy buckets or a DWC set up. There are lots of good DIY DWC videos on YouTube that will save you hundreds on the kits they sell online.

Are you sure you want to make the jump? I hope this doesn't come off as rude, it seems like you're kind of new to this and you're switching grow styles because you didn't get the results you wanted from soil.

I really like RDWC with the fallponics type setup (check out pahydroponics). Its very unforgiving and the first couple grows were very frustrating but if you stick with it and learn its pretty amazing.

I m using coco coir in air pots with 4x1000w Led Mars lights,couple of fans and one exhaust,just using canna products to feed and can’t go wrong,very simple set up and always get great quality buds

General Hydroponics' Waterfarm or Power Grower are ideal for a first time hydro grower. There are tons of modifications to be had and tons of people using them with great results. I don't see either one of those units listed on their website but I'm sure that you can still find units (and parts) for sale if you look around. As for nutrients, I'd keep it as simple as possible. This feeding program is about as easy as it gets. Good luck!

Yes want to try something different as I'm not getting the results I would like from soil

For what it's worth I did 1 hydro run to see what it was about. Ran a 10 or 12 gallon dwc tote. Swapped the rez out every couple of weeks if i remember correctly. Used H&G Aqua Flakes, and H&G Multi Zen. Jet pump with aerator to keep rez fresh. Had a good run, minimal issues.

for first time DWC is simplest. you need a bucket and a airpump nothing complicated you can try one grow test it out.
for food you have a lot of options i use powder(master blend) because i grow a little. big liquid ones usually last a year or 2 its super hard to use them all XD.

for any kind of hydro you need a ph and ppm meter.
and maybe you will need ph+ or - depending on your home water and food you use.

Start with Hempy buckets then once you get that dialed step it up to ebb n flow or drain to waste.

I pieced mine together, you can really save some money if you get creative. I went with flood and drain and won't look back it's only a 2x4 but I've made pretty good use of it doing my first real run in it and I'm loving it. Compared to my first couple grows that were soil I can actually leave it worry free
