Have I got this correct. Here’s my press 5x6 plates with inkbird heater.View attachment 5028550
Heres what I generally get out of it View attachment 5028551
I like to press hotter for better yield, I go up to about 200f, 5 Minuit minimum pre press to get the rosin flowing and then do a long and slow press. Usually 5-10g at a time.
Btw I press shwag.
Correct! Using heat and pressure, squashing the resin out as best we can. There’s also hash rosin, If you decided to press that hash you made through a 37u bag you would have some nice and more refined product.Have I got this correct.
You're putting bud in your press and squeezing the resin from it, that being rosin?
Try using silicone baking sheets instead of parchment paper. It comes off more easily check out mine.I just built this a little bit ago.

I have no idea what I'm doing......but it tastes great lol
A hot cold cure? DankI check out the rosin pics on reddit from time to time and I kept seeing 'cold cure ' but never bothered looking into it. A gram of pressed rosin lasts me awhile.
Anyways, last weekend I tried filling a cart with some of my blueberry and chocolate rosin ( big fail on that) I was heating my rosin in a old shatter vac dish with the heat pad underneath to try and loosen it more and then I packed it in the cart and stuck that on the heat hoping it would melt down and I could add more. That wasn't successful so I stuck the cart in the freezer with a little rosin still in it. The next day it was really yellow

Last night I did the same process minus the cart filling, heated my fresh Rosin in my pyrex then put it in the the freezer overnight.
Blueberry and chocolate Rosin left overnight in the freezer

Blue and chocolate without the freezer cure

TLDR
Sticking fresh pressed rosin in the freezer overnight seems to lighten the color.
Lol. I'm winging it, friend. I've got outdoor to press and play around with, so it's all just for fun.A hot cold cure? Dank
What was the temp? Looks great!Been playing around with temps and pressing pressure. Getting some lighter colors. Really happy with this press, been going through all my outdoor larf and lowers. Great returns so far and the flavors are tasty AF.
Bodhi Cocoon, second in taste outta the 4 strains I've pressed, highest yielding though. I'll be growing this again next outdoor.

Oh I like to hear twenty. Gnarlawesome.Out of curiousty I pressed a small amount tonight to see what kind of returns I'm getting. Just a little over 20%. I'm happy with that, although I can still see a little left on the flower. Probably why they recommend a second press. It'll go into my butter.
Outdoor Bodhi Cocoon.

Thanks bro. I took it down to kief/bubble temps and pressed twice. First time doing that. Man, I've missed out not pressing a second time. My plan is low temp/ low pressure, two presses from now on. My first press was @165° for a minute followed by another minute press @ 175° .What was the temp? Looks great!
Hey thanks for that. Yeah, I was surprised and happy with that return . That's the Cocoon that yields so well. And that was only one press. Like mentioned above to DW, I'll be pressing twice from now on.Oh I like to hear twenty. Gnarlawesome.

I've only pressed my indoor twice, interestingly enough, the outdoor has yielded more
Yes. No bagsAre you using parchment paper?
I’m using silicone baking sheet with bags. Very easy to collect but it’s darker, if I go lower temps I get less rosin. any suggestions????Yes. No bags
Ouch! don't put your thumb in the pressSee what I meanView attachment 5056417

It could be as simple as the flower you're pressing. I've noticed with the 4 different strains I've pressed, they all come out a different color and texture.See what I meanView attachment 5056417
The Baganda the mat collects the rosinWhere are you putting the silicone mat?
