It's not so much sales, it's a comparison to traditional lighting that people were already familiar with. It's all a little deceiving at this point because LEDs are quickly becoming the most common lighting source.
I'm not really an LED guy, so I don't know what the Hell "Corn Style" means. They look like a regular flourescent shoplight except they have two rows of white LED's - with an LED about every 1/2" or 3/4". I don't see why Wal-mart would mis-represent the true power consumption - they're not selling them as grow lights. So I'm still thinking 216 watts for $72.00.Are they the corn style? Or those flat panel. You can buy a nice Bestva using 105 true watts for about the same price.
My electrician buddy uses LED T5 replacements and says he uses them exactly like his old T5 bulbs.Does anyone know is how close can they get to plants? I want a true T5 replacement where the plants have to touch the light to burn.
In their specifications they list "Power - 54 watts" and "Lumens - 5,000".It's not so much sales, it's a comparison to traditional lighting that people were already familiar with. It's all a little deceiving at this point because LEDs are quickly becoming the most common lighting source.
Maybe this will explain it more and help you decide.I'm not really an LED guy, so I don't know what the Hell "Corn Style" means. As long as they both illuminated my shop equally; I'd buy the 24 watter. Wouldn't you?So if you were shopping for a shop light and saw a 54w light and a 24w shop light for the same price, which would you buy?
How would they be equal if one is double the wattage of the other? As long as they both illuminated my shop equally; I'd buy the 24 watter. Wouldn't you?
Magic! How would they be equal if one is double the wattage of the other?
IF the bulbs are designed for PLANTS! A regular LED shop light is far from optimal and totally lacking red. But whatever LED is LED and watts is watts. Am I right? If you're referring to the type that pop into the T8 and/or T12 fluorescent fixtures, those are GREAT! I even found a "switchable" bulb, day/cool/warm settings.

For most vegetative purposes, yeah absolutely.IF the bulbs are designed for PLANTS! A regular LED shop light is far from optimal and totally lacking red. But whatever LED is LED and watts is watts. Am I right?
Post some pictures. For most vegetative purposes, yeah absolutely.
Of what, people cloning, seed-sprouting and vegging under low intensity lighting? I'm certain you've seen it.Post some pictures.
And are missing any red.For clones and seedlings they work as well as any other light. Most of the shop lights are 4000k.
