Blumats. Who's using them?

So I'm going away in Feb (pending covid lockdowns) and of coarse I'll be in final weeks of flower when I'm gone. It's either get my buddy to water whom I trust but he's busy and got kids and his own room to deal with or I get blumats.
Was looking at this IMG_20211204_180316.jpg
It comes with this

Running 7gal pots so I'm thinking 2 per pot. Anyone with experience using these? Is it worth the money?

I'm going to eventually jump on this for similar reasons. I like hand watering when I'm here, but there's times I'm just not going to be around for a few days or a week or whatever. I can generally get 3-4 days between water/feed but yeah...eyeballing the slightly smaller kit with 10 units and do 2 per 5g bag.

I am considering them or a SIP system. I restoring an old VW Camper and would like to go away in it when it is finished. No major trips, just long weekends. I hand water at the moment, but once Covid has died down and we can travel properly again I would like some flexibility.

I have a spare tent with some COB lights I "experiment" in. So I am going to get a couple of Blumats to run next to a home made SIP and see which suits me best. I am leaning towards a SIP as I can build one of those for next to nothing. I have a couple of Bruce Banner #3 clones that will make excellent Guinea Pigs.

I will watch this thread with interest.

I use them, been using them for almost a year and a half.
They work great but some people have problems getting them set up correctly.
You need to follow all the right steps in order to not have a runaway, and also keep your eye on them for the first few weeks to make sure they are adjusted correctly and watering right.
There's a few threads on riu about blumats also an epic thread on icmag that's where I learned most of what I know.
Got any questions I'll answer best I can.

Like I said I love them they work amazing with my set up.

I'm growing in a 3X3 bed and I use one carrot per plant with five drippers on each carrot.
5 gallon reservoir bucket uses about a gallon or two a day.
I like it. Easier to this fill up the bucket
Yes I was interested in the drippers off the carrot

So I want to use 12 carrots with drippers off them in pots. How many feed lines will I need eg how many carrots run off the feed line. Or is it one line per carrot? Also do I need to use blumat drippers? I have so much hydro equipt I'm 100% I have drippers available.

I use mine with living soil in anywhere from 1-5 gallon pots never used more than 1 carrot per pot with no drippers.
I have a few maxis and some drippers but never felt the need to use them.
A 7 gallon I might use a maxi carrot but that's it just one

I used them for a while dunno, few years or more. Like many others in 100% coco. No run off but putting some hand watered rez water or low ec water (as needed) through them occasionally to run off.

I only use them when I'm going to be gone for a week or more. I usually can get them adjusted in a week or 10 days. Hate runaways.

With salts sometimes they get clogged at the carrot. Then I pinch the tube to get the crap flowing again.
Never tried them with soil though.

Ya I'm in Canada the options are more limited here.
Looks like Amazon Canada just has the 12 pack.

You can buy everything from Sustainable Village directly but I don't have any idea what the shipping would be. They don't weigh much.

Edit:

Just saw the shipping charge. Damn we're spoiled here in the US. 1-2 day free delivery here for most stuff. I get annoyed if I have to wait more than 3-4 days.
