Yes but cal-mag is not usually a huge issue in well rounded soil. I give organic cal-mag and silica as part of each feeding but a lot of organic growers don’t.
Best thing for overall health imo is brewing up some compost tea.
In your case with theFFsoil i would use plain water(not tap unless dechlorinated) until the plants geta few nodes. Then once the plants are growing always be top dressing with worm castings or compost, and brew up some funky tea and apply it 1/10 ration with ro, rainwater or dechlorinated tap water.

If so, is that substitutable for Fox Farm nutes mixed into the water?

That's unfortunate not heard good things about California lightworks no way you can return it you could get a much better light for around same money not trying to piss on your bonfire before you start but I'm not sure that light will flower a 4×4

for $375 I find that SolarXtreme kind of hard to beat.

The sooner the better. If you need room to water your plants you start a little later. I auto water so as soon as the plants clear my auto system I start pushing them under a net.

That looks awesome. You just place them anywhere under the screen and they just naturally spread along the underneath of the screen?

Well....they need a lot of help. I put the pot to one side of the room and push the top under the net as it grows. When the sides reach the net I start doing the same with them. Need to do it when the tops are fresh. If you let them get old they harden and will snap when you try to work with them.

okay so all you have to really do is push the stems under the screen(i read you can also twist them into it). Do you trim as well?

Yeah I just push them under. I have also twisted them when I needed them to not grow and I had no where to go.

I crush stems. A lot. To control height.
I have to trim a fair bit because I jam a lot in there. Kinda need to form your own opinion on that. It is good and bad. If you trim to much or at the wrong time it can have negative effects.

Are you looking for leaves to trim that block light to what exactly? The other stems?

I don't want leaves smashed against buds. So those get chopped. I need air flow through the plant so I open it up a little. If the leaf is on top of a bud it gets chopped. But only for the very top.

The reviews i’ve read about this light say its perfect for 4x4 tents. I want to say California lightworks itself recommends it to be used in a 4x4 and 5x5.

im sure you will be able to get to flower pretty well in 4x4 with 400 watts. Still getting 25 per square foot. Could be more yes for higher yields but should be fine on autos run 20-4 on timer imo but wouldn’t do but 2 plants maybe 4 to see how well it does .centered right in it. Switch to bar style lights is what I’m doing now on next run
