Hi guys, after my last disastrous grow I ditched my grow room and started from scratch.
I am well on my way with 4 AI (Aurora Indica) babes scrog style. Since I have absolutley no green thumb I can use all the help that comes along;)
I'll catch you guys up in a sec. but first to my new grow space. I recently moved and decided to abandon my grow cabinet and build myself a fully insulated grow 'room' 3x8x6 in the garage adjacent I build a 3x6x6 room that houses all my controls, the res, chiller, co2 tank etc. and a view moms.

The room as it stands now is 'sealed during lights on, and vented by an active intake rated at 100cfm as well as exhaust fan rated at 160 cfm during lights off.
My temps are controlled by ac. Lights on 80-83, lights off 70-75. The variation is due to ambient temps not to ac settings.
As I progress into flower I will reduce my lights on temps to 78 and my lights off temps to about 75, I realize it is not an ideal spread from what I read but I do not want to ac down to 68 due to the added ac expense. I might change my mind though. ;)
The intake and exhaust have back draft dampers in order to maintain a sealed room.
My co2 is dispensed via regulator, I use a 20 pound tank which lasts between 3-4 weeks during flower at about 1500-1800ppm constant. I monitor co2 with a 'sucks balls' cap ppm4 counter/controller:cuss:. Controller function is useless due to constant 'freezing up' but the counter works fine.

I utilize 'drain to waste' in a rockwool medium that I cover with about 2" hydroton, since I do not want to deal with the algae.

The pots are like 1.5 gallon (I think) and are drip fed via a drippier manifold.

The food:

Aqua flakes A/B
Pro-tect (silicon)
Multyenzym
Cal-Mag
B1

My res remains chilled at 73, usually a bit lower due to ambient temps. I use 2 air stones, 1 circulation pump and one feed pump.

Currently there are two oscillating fans in the room, one 6" facing at the canopy under neath the screen (eliminates moisture build up between the cramped fan leafs until I clear them out), and on 12" fan facing at the top side of the screen. They say excellent air movement is crucial to a successful scrog, but I'm sure it hold true for all grows.;)

The other big peace of equipment in the pic is an IQ Air air purifier that I use during lights on. It has 3 stage filtration along with a carbon filter. Keeps the air in clean since I do not vent during lights on.

I have a humidifier as well as a de-humidifier if needed. I'm worried though if the circuit can handle another 6 amp pull from the friggin thing :-?. I'll give it a shot during mid-flowering. During the final 2-3 weeks I'd like to get the humidity as low as I can to encourage more resin production.

Let's get to the beans :)
I ordered AI from Nirvana, planted three, all sprouted. Then I took clones from all 3 rooted them and flowered them along with my last grow (the disaster, remember,lol) The result 2 females and one male. I took four clones from the mother of the clone that showed most vigor during flower.
They were vegged for about 3 weeks under cfl's. Then I vegged them under the 600 for 1 week without the screen. This pic is form right after I placed the screen.

The screen I build from 2x2, eye hooks and nylon string. As usual completely overboard on the eye-hooks,lol. It's a Virgo syndrome,lol.
I positioned the screen about 10" of the pots, the spacing is 2"x2" . I secured it by hanging it of the ceiling, I may have to secure it to the base if the plants push it up, but I think it may be heavy enough :)

I flipped (12/12) them after the screen was about 50% filled, which means that I had bud sites in at least 50% oh the little holes. I'm hoping the rest will fill in during the first three weeks of flower stretch. This is my first scrog and I did not want to end up with a jungle so I may have flipped a bit early, better save then sorry. But from the looks of it I hit it pretty good.:weed:
Here are some pics as the screen got filled over the last two weeks.

The little onlooker on the side is a Purple Kush that my mate brought over cause he didn't have room anymore. It will have to be an onlooker, but I am training it horizontally along the frame of the screen.

I welcome all comments and suggestions as I'm and idiot when it comes to keeping plants alive:evil:. I wish I could grow them as well as I can smoke them,lol!

I took a couple pics today that show what it looks like before and after training. The left side is the overnight growth, the right side is were I trained them back under the screen. The goal here is to maintain a even canopy in order to avoid any shaded bud sites.

I apologize about the pic quality, but once they show some porn I will turn the hps off to take pics :)

I just remembered, I should probably mention the necessity of removing fan leafs. I have been told,lol, that all regular rules go out the window with a scrog, meaning one will have to take a lot of fan leafs from under the screen. How many, well pretty much everything underneath the screen. So, as I am finally ready for my first hopefully successful grow I will heed this advice, since there in nothing worse then a grow going bad due to poor air circulation and mold.

by all means remove the fan leaves below the screen and even some above the screen OVER TIME, dont sit there and abuse them...lol.. they will stress out and be delayed a week or even more... every time you pull a fan leaf off it stress;s the plant so limit them over time....

by the way they are filling out nicely... how big is the screen? you should hang a piece of mylar outside the screen so your plants get the side lighting also..

Hi beennoobed, Cheers for stopping in you are my first guest :)
The screen is 33"x36", but my space is only being utilized 50% right now due to lack of funds for a second light:cry:. But everything in its time, my mane goal here is to have my first successful grow.
Thanks for the tip on Mylar, I had it in my last grow space but decided against it this time due to the moister barrier it creates, I'm in a sealed room and any bit of moisture that is being absorbed into the walls helps. But I certainly could put it right by the plants.
I don't have any moisture build up under the screen yet, and I've been taking about 10 fan leafs a day, but once I let them go over the screen and they have some growth up top I will take the rest of the undergrowth.

yea let em get 6"+ from the top of the screen b4 u strip em under it, but if u see any dieing ones take em off...

your headed in the right direction man goodluck...

First Pistils are showing on the undergrowth :)
I did a res change and changed my mix a bit. I dropped all additives, my brew is :
5ml Aqua Flakes A/B
5ml Cal Mag (for RO water)
1.7 ml/l H202
EC 1.4

I think they like the change, I was running a bit high before at EC 1.8

I also turned my chiller and circulation pump off, since I noticed the only reason my temps went above 73, which required the chiller, was that my circulation pump was creating so much heat. With it off my res stays well below 70.
