Just ordered a dab press and some accessories. How'd I do?

I ordered the 6 ton dabpress for $386. I got a 25 pack of 37 micron press bags, 20 piece 5ml silicone storage containers, and a 2"x4" pre press mold.

I'm looking forward to pressing my first hash patty as soon as it arrives. I'll be dry ice sifting flower and trim through a 160 micron boldt brand bubble bag. Eventually I'll move to bubble hash but I need some more equipment before I cross that bridge. The goal is to replicate frenchy's system as time goes on and I can afford to buy more equipment. For now dry ice sift is quick, effective, and produces outstanding results. I've heard of people dry ice sifting fresh frozen flower to preserve the terpenes. Need to research that one a bit more. As I start processing more rosin I'll have to buy one of the ice wash machines to make the process more efficient.

In the meantime I'm watching videos on youtube getting tips from the rosin pros. Any rosin makers out there that can offer any comments on the equipment I purchased or tips for making top shelf rosin I'm all ears.

I press flower but I too am interested in the dry ice sifting, looks like yields are fantastic. I wonder though if you can press good dry sift and get Hash rosin like from bubble hash pressing.

Check out this youtube video on dry ice hash making. Super easy. All you need is a 160 micron bubble bag, dry ice, and trim / flowers. You can see in the video it produces beautiful blonde hash. I'd be interested to see if there's a difference in rosin quality pressing dry ice hash vs ice water hash. Both methods are removing trichomes from the plant matter so I can't imagine there's a great deal of difference in quality. If someone was producing rosin on a larger scale the ice water method is the only viable way to do it. I couldn't imagine shaking pounds of dry ice and flower all day long If you shake too much / too long with the dry ice method plant matter will eventually begin falling through. About 1 minute is all the shake time that's needed. I usually shake until the shade of the hash starts changing slightly darker. That's when you know you've tapped out your material.

I agree. They were cheaper than glass and I was turned on by the fact that oil doesn't stick to the silicone. Does it stick to glass? Eventually I'd like to dress up the product packaging a bit more and would prefer glass. On a budget at the moment

I called dabpress's customer service yesterday and left a message asking what the difference is between the 6 ton and 10 ton model. Obviously it's a different setup but the plates are 250w each on both models and both models are only capable of processing 14g at a time. I'm impressed with their customer service based on the call back I got. Guy left a greatly detailed message about the differences between each unit. In a nutshell the 10 ton can press more flower. If you're not pressing flower there is no need for the 10 ton unit. The 6 ton is more than enough to process hash patties as hash requires a lower pressure than flower for extraction. The 6 ton unit really seems like a great value compared to other units.

Those nugsmasher people are some real shysters. Their hardware is weak and costs twice as much as any other press I've seen with better hardware. Another crappy company that's better at marketing and generating profit than producing a unit with good hardware at a fair price point. No offense to nugsmasher owners. The units work. You just paid too much for what you got. And don't even get me started on the "lifetime warranty" nonsense. Send the unit off at your expense to california and back while your unit is out of commission for god knows how long. The freight would be nearly half the price of a new dabpress with better hardware not to mention your rosin processing is at a stand still until you get the press back. The value of a lifetime warranty is relative to the price paid for said warranty. Overcharging in the cannabis industry is a story as old as time. People deserve a better value for their money. Dabpress for the win. End of diatribe.

The 6 ton was too small for Jonny if I recall, he's selling I believe. I have the 6 ton for personal and love it. I think they recommend pressing up to 10 grams with it. So if you're not pressing large quantities, it's fine as kind.
