Can I use a 6 inch inline fan along with a 4 inch inline fan in my tent

Currently I am in a 3 by 3 tent. This is my first grow. I am using a HLG 350R and have a 4" AC infinity fan with carbon filter exhausting the air. This set up was fine for Veg but not great during flower- high humidity. Thankfully they are autos so I am just keeping door of tent cracked to keep the humidity down.

I am going to upgrade to a Gorilla 4 by 4 and will eventually get the 2 foot extension kit- this is about 144 cubic feet

I am going to get another fan as an intake fan. I am thinking about getting an AC infinity 6" fan. Can I have 2 different sized fans knowing that I am going to be using one for exhaust and one for intake? If so, I am assuming I want to use the 6" for exhaust and the 4" for intake??

Any input would be appreciated!

I did what your suggesting. Running off the same controller ,fan speed set is for all.

I run tandem controls as I would run 2 or 3 speed differences to balance the pressure.

Screw the intake fan and get a speed controller for the 6". While you're at it get a temp/rh controller as well so the fan isn't running 24/7. A 6" full bore is pushing 400+ CFM without a carbon filter and probably 300+ with. You don't need 2 full air exchanges every minute. Could run that at 1/4 speed and that would be plenty.

I'm using a 6" at half speed in 3x the space and it's more than enough. I have all those controllers running it.

I too have a AC T6 with the AC carbon on it in my 3x and only run it on 2 or 3 speed. Sucks the walls in Definitely a high turn over rate
My low setting on my T6 is 3 (seems that 1 or 2 and some of the funk sneaks out of the tent). But yeah, a 6" exhaust with a 4" intake should match pretty well. I had to damp my intake S6 down a good bit to retain negative pressure while using the same controller.. I probably wouldn't have had to do that if I had a 4. You wouldn't want to do the reverse though and have them at the same speed.

@LeastExpectedGrower what carbon, if any, do you run? I have the 6” AC but the humidity has been pretty high lately and definitely getting the funk going
I've been adding and changing my ventilation setup since the beginning of my grow... I have a hanging Cloudline 6T for exhaust with a Terrabloom 6x16 filter in front of it. That runs out to a basement window (only about 4') and terminates with one of the AC Infinity 6" duct dampers. For an intake, I'm using a Cloudline S6 at the bottom of my tent. It has ducting on it as well, just to get the opening away and to a convenient place. I have two layers of fabric covering and filtering the open duct and got just the right amount of damping out of that so that both 6" fans play well together and give me a little negative pressure in the tent...but too much. I also upgraded the controller to the new Controller 67, which I like a lot better because you can set it so the fans don't go off.

I think I’m going to look into that controller eventually. Probably need that inkbrid one too that you had mentioned in my post..
