Outdoor grow - Brown/dead patches on buds

Hi All,

Thanks for taking the time to look at this. Both these plants have been going outdoors and are around 2 weeks away from harvest. Both plants have been fully pollinated. I've been noticing these brown spots on some of the bud sites. Is this due to pests or something else? will the bud be safe to smoke (mostly growing these guys for the beans but would like to smoke the flowers if I can)

any advice would be amazing.

If you're growing for beans they're ready.
If you want to try and smoke some of the flower, I'd cut out the affected parts now. Would not smoke those.
Looks like bud rot and it will spread, especially outdoors.

Thank you everyone for the replies!

Pretty convinced it's bud rot, never was planning on trying to smoke the affected areas lol but would sites not affected be alright?

Pretty new to breeding, do seeds not take the full flowering period to be ready? Have half a mind just to chop them down now, harvest the seeds and take as much clean flower I can to extract or make butter with.

Seeds are ready weeks before we normally harvest flowers.
Take a bud and peel away the calyxes from the seeds.
If they’re brown and hard you’re good to go.
