The Hops Thread

They a cool looking plant/vine. I drink lots of beer but have never really thought about hops and how they grow.

I drink lots of beer as well. I tried the brewing my own years ago. Decided it's better to just buy it. Especially with all the good local stuff we have here in Oregon.

Beer should be ready in a few more days. Here’s a couple harvesting pics.We ended up having a couple friends over and put them to work picking, we fed them for the effort. One is a local brewmaster can’t wait to taste what he’s made!

We got some aphids in the last later-summer nugget hops harvest, earlier chinook and cascade were perfect, overall an excellent year!!

I've got Chinook, Mt Hood, Fuggles & Goldings that have been sitting in 1/2-barrel tubs coming up now (it's Spring here in Oz) & horribly neglected for years. They're incredibly hardy & grow no matter how much I neglect them.

Geez! You'd think they grow like a weed!!
