This is the sme kind of pest don't feed on high BRIX argument. Osmotic pressure is not a set point. And each plant given its health will react differently. Further more, not all sources of Osmotic pressure is the same. And High EC alone doesn't not mean reverse osmosis will occur.reverse osmosis
I think he was answer someone elses question on what to do if their starting water's EC is real high. He suggested using an RO filter...This is the sme kind of pest don't feed on high BRIX argument. I have run 3 different industrial grows... starting EC is usually 1k for heavy feed plants like cannabis in my nutrient programs, with boost unto 2k range.
Long term potted plants aka moms are an entirely different story as they don't go through their entire life cycle.
Get better water. Water softner and RO filter or dehumidifier water etc. What's can we do if our water it's around 1 EC?
RO filters for well or city water is totally a thing if your nutrients require it.I think he was answer someone elses question on what to do if their starting water's EC is real high. He suggested using an RO filter...
Sounds like grooming...Ok so a young friend of mine who I introduced to growing and got going, has ended up becoming my new lover
Yeah 3 sounds mad!Anyway this place pays big bucks to belong to some pay-for-access pot board where he has been "studying" hence the defoliation, flushing and 48 hours of dark before you cut etc. The craziest thing he has told me, is that they want him to grow close to 3 E.C. WTF? Does anybody actually grow that high?
Takes a special kind of pussy to quote somebody and change the actual quote. You sir, just happen to be that kind of pussy. And that, you can quote me on.Sounds like grooming...
Yeah 3 sounds mad!
Lighten up!... would have been funny without editing it... either way sounded a bit dodgy.Takes a special kind of legend to quote somebody and add histerical edits to the actual quote. You sweetheart, just happen to be that kind of legend. And that, you can quote me on.
Yea - you're still not getting it.RO filters for well or city water is totally a thing if your nutrients require it.
But osmosis, is how your plants takes in nutrients. The osmotic pressure caused with high EC can damage your plants and actually cause then to dump water and nutrients through its roots versus uptake, but this is not a easy scenario to cause. But it happens
RO = Reverse Osmosis (filter)
excuse the confusion, i may should have added the word filter too.
ah i seeYea - you're still not getting it.
You misunderstood the original comment you replied to. And now you're misunderstanding my pointing this out to you.
Nobody asked what osmotic pressure was or does. Go back and re-read.
Thanks.

I was gonna say I get up in the low 4.?’s when pushing the production room but that’s on a monocrop of tried true genetics I have slowly worked my way up over several runs AND not all strains will put up with it hahahahaOk, I actually had to look it up, I thought 3 EC would be higher but it's 1500ppm. Still, pretty high if you ask me. Then they add boosters.
Yah the irrigation system is key, I have tried hand watering the same solution from the res and they don’t like it, think it’s cause I have the system feeding several times a day giving roots time to dry in between And not a heavy saturation a “daily” watering provides. I run in the low 4.?’s in production monocrop with the trolmaster irrigation system in coco pots following a “crop steering” style feeding schedule with great resultsYou can run EC that high with the right set up...i.e. precision irrigation, fully automated, constant monitoring of EC levels in your medium, etc.
I know Jungle Boys run EC levels that high but their rooms are state of the art. Would definitely not recommend for hand watering...sure way to fry your plants if you ever let your medium run dry.
