Urgh Bud Rot today

I spotted one black shriveled leaf at the top of one of my plants today, plucked it out and looked at the bud and yup it’s got the rot. I cut the bud off and can’t see any other signs on this or other plants, so hoping that’s the only one!

This is my first grow so I guess I’m getting lots of learning for the next one.

Outdoor heartbreak lol
It happens man. No control on environmental factors out there. Things you can do are keeping the plant super healthy and stacked up with silica. Helps strengthen the cell walls and is much more difficult for the spore to 'root' into the cell.
Shake em off after a rain. Make sure you got good airflow through the plant. If you look into your plant and can't see anything other than the tops and leaves you don't have good airflow. Humidity gets trapped up inside (microclimates) and really aids the mold.

Have you been spraying for worms? Spray as a preventative, even if you don't see budworms.

Hopefully you don't find more rot. GL.
Uhm. That depends where you are. No budworms round here. Never even heard of em till I came on this site. Maybe I'm lucky? Maybe they just don't live here. But I wouldn't be telling someone to spray their buds unless they absolutely had to

Budworm is just another word for caterpillar, if you have moths and butterflies you have caterpillars. Check the bud thoroughly for one next time, or black specs of poop. True bud rot, butrytis is a different thing but they look similar.

Never had caterpillars in my buds and they're all around me. Grew guerilla for many moons. Never had a caterpillar in the bud before. Dont know if that species is up here.

There are many species and Ontario has definitely had issues with budworms. They're the bane of every outdoor gardener and they do a lot of damage to our spruce and pine trees. You're very fortunate to never have encountered them.

Yeah I’ve never had bud worm either and it’s pretty unheard of around here ,but I’m on the other side of the world and got %95 humidity to deal with instead
