big spider mites issue - mineral oil during flower?

been dealing with spider mites for years, never been able to get rid of em, my area is littered with pests and being outdoors ain't much i can do.

i found white bio mineral oil is pretty effective at controlling mites, as long as you apply it every week once.

most ppl say you shouldn't use it in flowers, however, every time i stopped using it during flower - THE FUCKERS TOOK OVER, when i spray it once a week i can keep very good control on the mites. very very little damage to leaves, but as soon as i stop they destroy everything


oil bottle say's i can keep using it up until 20 day's before harvest (this is for stuff like tomatoes other vegetables and fruits) i don't see why that wouldn't apply to weed??

i wash my weed before harvest anyways, just like we wash our fruit. can it really impact bud taste??

i don't have time for the citric acid, i have too many plants and that will only kill them on contact, after 2-3 days new eggs will hatch, i'd have to apply it every other day. ain't got 2 hours daily for that, how is it possibile that there is no cannabis safe pesticide?

most pesticides are oil based to make them stick to surfaces/suffocate the pests. most of those oils are harmless when ingested in small amounts but your lungs and bowels don’t work the same way. eating residual neem oil for example may not have a big negative effect on your body but in your lungs oil causes problems. just my 2cents.

how do large-scale farms tackle this problem then? (outdoors) what do they spray?

there has to be a safe pesticide for weed that doesn't require you to apply it pretty much everyday like most natural remedyies

don’t know man i’m a small scale hobby grower and i grow indoors so no pests thus far. i think you can use some microbial products such as this one

I would take this guy's advice. I got some citric acid after seeing xtsho recommend it for gnats and it works great for that. I haven't had mites in a long time so didn't use it for them but I know who to listen to around here.

Citric acid is just one of many remedies for spider mites. Mineral oil isn't one that should be used during flower. That was the main point I was trying to make with the OP.

Most big growers have a continuous IPM program in place, they don't wait for a dire infestation to treat their plants. If you spray something like Spinosad on your buds, they would fail testing, even though it's "organic." Big growers with bad mite issues are almost always content to poison their customers if they can get away with it. We smoked A LOT of poison and PGRs back in the 80s, 90s, and 00s. Testing is a recent thing and it is far from universal. So it's up to you, are you a good guy or a poisoner? hehe

it's impossible for me, too much work with what i'm dealing with, i'd have to spend 2 hours every other day spraying them, especially because you gotta spray them very well to cover both under and up on the leave :( guess my only option is to stick to mineral oil then

i found a bio pesticide made from thyme and one made from Pyrethrum

also found one made from Common Nettle... also stumbled up-on a bunch of other made from similar natural plant extracts, which one is gonna be most effective for mites?

also later in the year i'm gonna have a caterpillar as usual during the fall. so keep that in mind

I have used this stuff and it did NOT work for mites on my plants. Still looking for the magic remedy myself.
