Weird leaf twisting and curling

I have a nana sorbet by square one in FFOFabout 2 months from seed. Amending with down to earth but this has been happening before adding anything. The leaves also don’t get any bigger on the new growth that has the twisting. They just stay smaller but the earlier growth on plant was normal, and has had a trend of pretty big fan leaves. It’s like two completely different plants from top half compared to bottom half. I’m guessing it’s from light being too close, I have since moved it a lot farther away from the plant (about 3 weeks ago) it’s 24+ inches from canopy and it’s a cheap little 100W light I had laying around that I got for free (giixer) a while ago. But hasn’t changed much since keeping the light higher. Anyone ever see something like this/know what it could potentially be?
humidity steady at 50% temps at 75-78 during the day, 70-72 at night.

someone mentioned russet mites to me and I check regularly for pests/bugs and I’ve never found anything at all, on any of my plants or grows.

Your pH is out of wack.

A foliar of epsom might help green them up a little while you deal with the pH

Have gotten that too and sounds a lot more likely than the mite suggestion. What’s an effective method to check soil ph? Thanks for the insight.

The slurry method.

Mix equal parts of soil to RO or distilled water pH'd to 7.
Mix well
Wait a few minutes then measure the pH. You can strain it if you dont want to stick your probe in the mix.

Make sure you take soil from a few different spots.

This will give you a general idea of the substrates pH. Its not exact, but its more accurate than testing run off.

For the magnesium foliar, just mix a teaspoon of Epsom per gallon of water. pH to 6
