Help plan a spare room setup

Hello, I have a small spare room with closet that I am able to use. This is how the room is laid out and about how much space I have to work with. I plan to frame a wall and make a seperate veg and flower room. I figured I would use the closet for clones and mothers? What are everyones thoughts on my layout ideas? What would you change or do different?

Is the Veg room gonna be big enough?

Honestly dude, I would say it's fine. That's just me though. There isn't really a perfect setup, and I'm sure some folks would do it differently.

I use a 4x4 room with a 600w for vegging and a 4x8 with 2 600w for flowering. You have more wattage of light per square foot. I don't see much wrong with your setup, but all you have is the basics in there. Make sure you figure out the venting/intake/exhaust/heat/cooling/humidity for each room. That is what's gonna make or break a setup, having all those working together and properly.

why would you make your veg room smaller than your flower room? personally i would go for a veg room twice the size of your flower room and start plants growing in three week intervals so you can get a harvest every three weeks. i guess it's just a matter of what you want to do...

It appears to me that most people have a veg area smaller than flower area, no? I am thinking now of doing a stadium setup in the 6x6 section.

When are the plants gonna be biggest and bushiest and need the most space? In flowering.
You can fit about 30 plants in a 4x4 space from seedling until your ready to flower, but good luck trying to fit those 30 plants into a 4x4 space when they are 4 months old and budding.

First we need to know what style grow you want to do.

A SoG, perpetual harvest: a la Al B Fuct is definately the most productive use of space. Ideally you would do this in hydro but it can be done with more lifting and effort in soil.

You could maintain you mums and clones in the main area of the room, use the 2x5 closet for keeping tools and supplies neat and organized and then partitian off the whole end to have a 6x9 flowering area.

Total Space for Veg15-18 sq.ft.

Use either 600 or 1000 as mentioned for lighting.
A small shelf off to the side of the room with a heat mat, trays and humidomes with a small floro for clones.

This veg and clone space should be climate controlled with the household system. Air cool the light on a closed loop and put a carbon filter on the veg area exhaust.

Flower Area: 54 sq.ft.

Several Options
Hydro:
4-3x3 Flood Drain Trays with (2 on each wall with corridor between)
Each pair of 3x3 trays should be serviced with 1kw HPS as mentioned earlier.
Feed 30-36 clones directly to flower every 15 days-Then after 60 days you can pull 1-2lbs every two weeks depending on temps, humidity and your skills.
This is a replica of the Al B Fuct system and i run a set-up just like this except twice the size. Very productive i assure you.
You will only need 6-8 healthy mums and really won't need a 1kw for them. With all the space and extra wattage I would maintain 6-8 mums of 3 strains you find to be to your liking (to grow and to smoke). Rotate through the strains and you will have nugs coming out your ears 24/7/365.

Dirt....ugghhh

Lug in a couple cubic meters of soil at incredible expense, effort and security risk.
Then do the same thing in pots of dirt. Have 4 defined areas and fill each area every 15 days with an appropriate number of plants to flower

Couple things:
You will probably need a room unit a/c in conjunction with venting your lamps on a closed loop. You will definately need a dehumidifier and possibly a sulfur burner if you are wanting to grow christmas trees (which I don't recommend) Exhaust with ability to exchange all room air every 3-4minutes. Passive intake should be fine.

Lots of other shit too. Hope you have done your research. I thought I was prepared when I built out two 13x13 rooms and ended up almost 2x my original budget. For instance you should plan to spend a grand on odor control alone for a full sized growroom-well maybe 600 or so. It just adds up quick is all I am saying.

Hope that gives you something to think about.

Thats odd.....what are you going to do when those plants you put in flower double in size in 20 days and you have them in half the space........You must be a weed baron:lol:

BTW I flower 96 clones (12 rows of 8 ) every 20 days in a 5x4 area and spread them out to a 6x4 area over the first few weeks of flower. They start at 4 per square foot and i spread them out to 3 per ft2 as they bud and increase the throw of my rail as I spread them out.

Thanks for all the info, I have been researching alot. Unfortunately, I won't have any space in the main part of the room for moms and clones, space is maxed out. My drawing is not to scale. I am going to use soil since it is very forgiving. I now have two 1000W lights and here is my new plan -

Use the 2x5 closet for mothers and clones with flourescents
Use the 3x6 area for veg with flourescents
Use the 6x6 area for flower with two 1000W lights in a stadium setup.

I have researched many stadium grows and found them to be very efficient. Do I really need a carbon filter in the veg area/closet too?

There you go. Sounds like the plan is coming together. I like the 2kw for the 6x6 space....should produce great yields!!
