Except that they weren’t failures, Afghanistan was the most peaceful and stable it’s been in decades with reduced to zero US/Allied loss of life in recent months.
And it still is. The taliban are just in charge. It could still turn into another Syria or Yemen. It is what it is.

Well thanks for that, I’m not sure I understand what you are implying with the “just” comment but I suspect you are being intellectually lazy with your Iiwii finale

Your an American. You are from that country that's telling me what to do. Go back to your country.
Stereotypes cannot be racist?

But I didn't say he was racist, I said that what he said smacks of racism. A broad brush statement like his, as in "they all despise you", I hear crap like that all the time about others. It's so common psychologists turned the word into a noun. "They all despise you" most certainly fits the definition:

Othering

1) treating people from another group as essentially different from and generally inferior to the group you belong to

2) a divided society where all problems are blamed on the other side

This certainly fits with the ignorant right wing. I can only hope truth or the search for it helps bring both sides together.
Fortunately that shields me from being a racist. They're white, I'm white. and......was actually involved in the evangelical movement.
Saw those towelheads as ignorant. Hmm......what was I thinking.

Yes, we do it all the time. Completely unfair.

You do understand that calling people Trumptards is different from label people of an entire nation or region as raging and angry ignorant towelheads?

But you are right about my othering evangelist Christians. Shame on me for lumping people who support and funded the Jan 6 insurrection with the group who literally committed insurrection during their violent attack on our system of government on Jan 6. Also, shame on me for not reaching out and finding common ground with neofascists. If only Germans had reached out to find common ground and communion with Nazis in the 1920's. Hitler, WW2 and the murder of millions of jews, Poles, Gypsies and "others" would never have happened.

A Trumptard would never do that.
Yes, and it makes you a hypocrite when you move the goal posts to excuse your own poor behavior.

I never said you were racist.

Though for somebody who is not racist, you seem to be very sensitive about the topic.

I don't know if it pertains to whatever the dispute is, but many people try to hide their exceptionally shitty ideas into the "oh it's just different" category. There's a gamut of regular bickering that occurs all the time and christians/republicans/trumpers have stepped well outside of that gamut in recent years. At some point, these really shitty and hateful ideas are no longer "just different" and not just worthy of disrespect, but disrespect is actually the correct course of action, because entertaining the idea of something like bigotry with a straight face is, in itself, lending credibility to bigotry, and you just can't allow that to happen.

I don't believe I used the term Trumtards. But no matter. I was pointing out that the example of your travels can be found in your own backyard.
People hate. And this nation has given many examples to people to where they can focus their hate. Be it over seas or in D.C.

For the record I do struggle with my perceptions of cultures and faiths.
But I understand it's my lack of knowledge.
One example is the Talibans. THOSE MOTHERF*CKERS SHOULD BE EXTERMINATED!!
Sorry I lost my head. Ooooh is that a pun?!

Are you also logged in as nuskool? Because my reply was to him

In that post, I agreed that people posting in RIU politics tend to other people. I used the term Trumptard as an example of how some of us who post here tend to other people who support the takeover of our government by a right wing radical authoritarian faction. Some call them Trumptards and that is in fact a form of othering.

Now then about calling people who live in Afghanistan ignorant towelheads. Well, that smacks of racism too.

For the record, I deal with the same. It's not simply ignorance but also social conditioning through the media and our tropes.
