How to clean carbon filter?

Somebody convinced of something stupid. If your filter is not working it could be for several reasons, like you bought a cheap ass one trying to save money, you bought a good one but delivery man dropped it or threw it, or you can't figure out air-flow, or you're trying to control too much smell with too small of a filter. RO water has nothing to do with it.

From everything I know about carbon filters........ Which is from keeping fish tanks my whole life....
You can pretty much "regenerate" charcoal, somewhat, by vigorously rinsing with the hottest water you can get and vigorously shaking the hell out of it.
With your goal being to "dislodge" bacteria buildup and other nasty stuff from the little porous holes that are in the charcoal itself.
Essentially "reactivating" it... but sometimes, it's just better to throw the stuff out and get new char.

I have a ram carbon filter. It’s all full of white dust and everyone says it’s because I don’t have ro water it builds up chalk in it

Well that was not the question buddy, the question was can I clean my filter and you just come up with a lot of bullshit instead and try to be smart. I told u why it’s not working but I need to know if it can be cleaned or just buy a new one

But then a video is provided that shows you can clean it.... LOL!
This is the reason why I will always ALWAYS resort to experience. No matter what, buying a new one will work, we all know that. However, we don't know for sure that "re-actvating" doesn't work, so, try it, experience will count in the future and you will know first hand if it works or does not.

Well buuuuudy, like a lot of people on the net, you asked a question, got an answer and replied, "yeah but somebody else told me this." So go listen to them then. I'll just sit here and laugh my ass off because you're listening to people tell you RO water messed up your filter. Buddy.

Bust the case open and then get sheet metal screws to screw it back on....
Then you can re-use the filter over and over and over...
I imagine you could make one of those filters easy enough, it literally is no different than a fish tank filter. You could use a big plastic bin stuffed with cotton and charcoal. Tape the lid on, run your ducting through both sides.... Could even go to Lowe's or Home Depot whatever and get some of those "Cinnamon" smelly things that go on furnaces that smell your whole house up.
