I’ll be honest with you, in the hood/ Compton in the early 80s, there was Mexican grown and variations on that theme. Every now and then, if we were lucky, we get a hold of some Thai, that was about it for us. All the good shit never made it there. Back then the white dudes had the good weed connections and there were no white dudes where I lived. Didn’t meet my first white peer until I went into the military in 85’
Our best came from hillbillies and hippies down in Kentucky and Tennessee. It was pretty damn good, though I am sure nostalgia plays a big part. Wasn't exactly processed great at harvest though, a good modern trim and dry would have been neat. Mostly just hung in the sun, defanned but still leafy, lightly compressed.
Thats the point of this thread. I’d like to see others give it a try with an at least an ounce and share info and experience. The fermentation process improves the weed dramatically and makes the cobs edible, chewable (like Copenhagen), you can brew tea with it. And improves smoke-ability.

So what happened there is when the weed has moisture in it and it’s placed in a fairly warm environment and there is no oxygen Anaerobic conditions cause the uptake of nitrogen when the bud has no O2 removing the green color. The plant converts sugars and starches to gas off as alcohol. Sometimes in my initial sweat at 130f the vacuum seal bag gasses up. This usually occurred with wetter weed 75-80rh. This in my opinion is truly curing the weed. All the burping nonsense (which I do with my traditional style buds) is really slow drying.
It’s important to take a small sample after the initial sweat. Gotta open the bag anywayAllrighty, I'm in. Using 2 different plants that were not quite up to snuff, 1 zip Jack Herrer and 1/2 zip of a fruity specimen of uncertain lineage. I'm a bit of a Pot snob. So rather than give it away, I'm cobbin' it! Both have been vacuum sealed and so with a nod to Grass Burner, I put them above the visor in my truck. It's 105 F so they'll stay there till dark and then into my dehy until 2PM tomorrow.
