Bad experience with Exotic Genetix

Hey guys just stopping by to share some experience that i had with Exotic Genetix... I'm about to harvest two different genetics from them one is Peanut Butter N Chocolate (Dosidos x Mint Chocolate Chip) and Paradise Circus (Tropicanna Cookies x Tina)...

Been growing them on a controlled enviroment with temps set at 73F, RH set at 45-50%, tons of ventilation, good lights (4x240w QuantumBoards LM301h), 50% coco 50% perlite, using General Hydroponics Flora Series...

I've got from the 20 seeds, 10 females a good female/male ratio... They grew beautifully, fat buds, tons of resin, Paradise Circus showed purple/pink colors in every pheno... Everything is great but they don't smell.

All 10 female, all 10 garbage hay phenos, not a single one has terps on them... I've thought i was doing something wrong, i've double checked every single aspect of my grow and yes my conclusion is bad genetics...

Based on my experience i wouldn't recommend Exotic Genetix to anyone... Maybe i had bad luck, but from 10 plants none of them have a single smell that's BS to me. I had better experience with low tier european breeders... Definetly disappointed.

Tomorrow going to get some photos of this instagram buds. Only beautifull, no terps...

They go though stages where they don’t smell good unless you messed something up while drying it should come back. I mean if they had good terps while growing anyways.

Did they have good smell while growing? How long have they been dry? Did the temps during the end of the grow or while drying get above 80?

Interested to hear your dry/cure process. That’s the make or break step. From the hay smell your getting sounds like you fucked up & let them dry wayyyy to quick. Next time you want your dry room as close to 60F/60rH as possible. The longer the dry, the more terps that are preserved. You want to aim for at least a 14 day dry before jarring up.

That's a very low temperature for LEDs. I doubt that would make your weed smell like hay, but I also doubt its the genetics.

My experience with EG is quite the opposite...

If you want real terps in your weed you should go no tilt organic living soil.

Im just saying outta 10 different plants no matter the breeder if your not getting smells i would look to point the finger somewhere else other than EG...I find that other ppls sense of smell when it comes to cannabis can be more reliable than mine bc im around it so much

Regardless of whether youve been doing it that way for 8 years, 73f is very low for leds as lucidghost said. 85 is much better.

Some plants smell worse than others...finish them...crack open a bud and reassess

I like low to mid 70s temps

@kwigybo88 How's that supposed to help ? 85F is pretty hot and terps are volatile so... Can't see that bringing back terps and as i said never had any problems with that.

@MY OWN DANK Yeah, i'm disappointed i got a shitty Moby Dick clone from Dinafem which is a third class breeder and it's better than those exotic plants

If you were growing 1 strain and it didn't smell you could say it's genetic but to have 2 totally different strains that don't smell suggests environmental factors to me.
