so far so good - this pineapple punch is a beast, and very healthy. had some issues a little over a week ago but sprayed with spinosad and aspirin and she made a big rebound. was doing only neem but now will alternate the two, spraying once a week then drenching the soil with the left over for hopefully some systemic protection. there is a road beyond that fence so i have to keep trimming to keep it this height, otherwise it would be 7' by now. planted march 25 so about 116 days old now.
this plant was topped, there is another behind it that was fimmed and it is nowhere as voluptuous. i cant believe i have ~3 more months to go - too much can happen!

Lookin good. I use neem, spinosad, and bt foliar spray and root drench for weekly preventative maintenance. I stop applying sprays when buds start forming. If you can avoid it, do not spray anything on your buds.

The biggest bug problems i've had in flower are spider mites and bud worms (caterpillars that eat the inside of the buds). The bt does a good job of controlling caterpillars. Just make sure you've been applying weekly until buds start showing. The residual should control bugs till the end. I use Monterey products for Spinosad and BT. I use Neem Bliss for neem oil, and I have some Azamax on hand that I alternate with the neem oil sometimes. I mix all three together at full strength with 1/4 strength dose of nutrients. My plants love it.

And I totally understand your fence problem!

wow nice! hope your neighbors are cool! the shade cloth in my photo is to keep that one neighbor from seeing them, and i also use shade cloth on several pepper plants because they really get wilty in our hot summers - so nothing looks out of the ordinary.

where are you, what strain, and have you grown before? specifically would hear from someone who had failure from mold/fungus then success when using a spraying routine - would give me a load of encouragement.

2021 outdoor kush garden

***Feel free to comment and barf all over this thread*** I figured I'd post my 2021 outdoor here. This first post will get the thread up to date from the beginning. I have 6 plants growing in a raised bed that is really a little too tight for the size the plants are getting. I have a cloning...

I started growing in 2009 in SoCal, grew for a few years mostly indoor with some outdoor, stopped for a while, then got back into it last year in central US.

Very early on, I had several grows that got messed up by spider mites, bud worms, and PM. I had a good friend that was my grow mentor. He suggested preventative maintenance with Neem, Spinosad, and BT. I use those for indoor and outdoor.

I've had mold spots on my outdoor in late flower before. Ever since then, if it rains, I shake the plants to get as much water off as possible. I selectively trim so that leaves are not laying up against buds, and to thin out the thickest leafy areas in the plant. I try to keep the buds from laying on top of each other. I've also used box fans to blow on them if it's too humid.

thanks. i am facing an uphill battle growing in houston where it is mid to upper 90's and very humid, plus we are in a very rainy period getting well over 60" yr when normal is about 48". we have had 8-9" each month for 3 months, with a total of over 28". so far no issues, been thinning a little but will likely do much more as flowering approaches....
