First outdoor in New York

First outdoor grow in New York have been growing indoors in Cali for some time and finally moved back home for family issues but they legalized I plan on putting some clones in a 20 gallon pot this weekend

clones : compound genetics coka,lit farms Marilyn Monroe ,reserva privada og#18 ,compound genetics bubba runtz lit farms tropical gelato 2.0,mamiko seeds cheese cookies

any tips I want to go in ground for 2 of them in a super soil what would you do please leave all tips thank you

Not legal to grow (yet)…There is a directive to leave you alone as long as you are within the bounds of the “new law”. Personally I don’t think you could get 12 people to convict you in NY anymore. Besides the fact that all the records are to be expunged.
That being said, not all NY is equal. I am in the Adirondacks and we get cold weather early. Early finishers is your best bet. Growing seasons of late have been extended weeks. I harvest if there is any risk of frost or hint of mold. I leave anything I don’t feel like trimming and let it go. I turn everything into wax so taking it early is okay, I am looking for high levels of THC-A. I have let these plants go another 4 weeks with no frost for at least the last 4 years (I think). I grow in bags “Roots Organic”, Fox Farm nutes and molasses at the end

You will have some issues with the humidity and the rain fall weekly.

Bud rot and PM will be your biggest issues.

I lived in NY for 28 years. I couldn't imagine trying to grow outdoors there.

Hello neighbor! Adks also molasses at the end has been a secret ingredient of mine for years I love it! Definitely not worried about growing here at all especially since I have my medical card.

I have a niece that lives in Brooklyn that's going to be growing indoors. Seeds are coming from me. My sister used to live in Nyack but now lives in Cortland where she recently bought a house on a decent sized piece of land and wants to grow some plants outdoors. She wants some seeds as well. I'll be making sure she gets a strain that doesn't take 16 weeks to flower. Although it would be funny to send her some Highland Thai seeds that would never finish where she's at but that would be cruel. Although, she still has some payback coming for some of the things she did when we were growing up. :mrgreen:

Get some good compost and amend the soil with it. Some EWC would be good as well. But definitely dig and amend a good area of soil for each plant. If the soil is already really good then you can skip that and just plant as is and top dress with some natural fertilizer.

Stark difference from California weather tbh. There will be a massive learning curve.

I love the Adirondack Mountains. Scroon lake is one of my favorite areas up there.

I don’t think people realize The ADK is the largest national park in the lower US.
6 million acres, 2.6million in NY.
—It would take these five national parks added together to equal the size of the Adirondack Park: Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Everglades, and Great Smoky National Parks. There are no traffic lights in Hamilton County (only one yellow blinking light at Long Lake)

This... I'm in downstate NY but you prob have colder nights. I did autos and am over 2 weeks into flower. I did photos and and not even completely positive prefliwers. I know lots of ppl who grow in NY. I wish I knew pros, but you can get, i suggest, northern lights autos nc you could squeeze them in right now still. I am awaiting 5 seeds and am going for it. You can always bring them in or covered at night into October. I'm no pro, actually I am just a really indulgent reader and you tuber. Here's 2 autos and one photo. See the difference? All started may 20.

If your only growing a couple imo it would fairly easy to light dep them if you're concerned aboit finish. Cover it after dinner uncover it before bed .just a thought

Folks growing in NY state (I'm in the Hudson Valley), this year was my first outdoor grow. The intense rain (it's raining right now) and heat have given me fits. Loose, airy buds are the result. Some manageable bug infestations that only appeared during mid-bloom when it's hard to treat. No bud rot thankfully; but I've been outside shaking the water out of the buds way too often. Also brought the plants inside a few times when we had days and days of heavy rains.

My first round of plants are finishing up now and are a bit disappointing. Grown in 5G grow bags with Fox Farms soil, Dr Earth top dress nutes and kelp and/or fish solution and silica in the water (basically how I grow tomatoes minus the silica).

I have a 2nd set of autos started (Obama Kush and Chocolope) and plan to try nature's living soil and fox farms this time.

Any tips for this region? I know flowering above about 85 degrees can be an issue. I have row covers for a few other greens and plants to shield them from intense sun so I will at least give that a try for the autos till things cool down.

Hello, I'm growing in Staten Island, when will my photo's start flowering? Mainlined to 32 tops, and they're incredibly resilient. Pic was from a week ago. The 2 plants are Durban Poison from Nirvana, dug a 2x2x1 feet hole in-ground with Whitney Farms Organic Soil from costco that was pre-mixed with compost, kelp meal, blood meal, alfa alfa meal, chicken litter, I added bone meal and mycorhizzae, they are fed Fox Farms on a feed, water, water, feed, water, water, dry day schedule. The sun is up 14.5 hrs a day, and these plants get direct 13 hrs of light with the last 1.5 hrs blocked by the house but that's fine since the u.v rays are long gone by then and there's ambient light. Popped seeds April 13th, topped twice and went in ground on June 2nd. They'll have roughly 12 weeks of veg time counting from the first topping on May 12th to an expected flowering August 7th when sunlight begins to diminish daily. My goal is all quality buds hoping for 1 lb per plant, anything more would be gravy as this is a first grow

Photo period update, saw 2 small pistils forming on the plant on the right today July 26th. The one on the right is showing more sativa dominance in her leaves and growth whereas the left is more indica dominant, both Durban Poisons. The left shows no pistils yet, it's a 9 week flowering period according to Nirvana's site, expected harvest is first week of October
