Still working on placement to maximize sun exposure. LST on two this evening, other two tomorrow evening...they spend the night getting used to the new orientation and take off the next day. Tomorrow and the day after are forecast to be sunny all day, and temps around 80. They will turn back up toward the sun in a couple days.

Good start looks happy, you have 5-6 weeks before they start flowering to grow them . Sun can do amazing things in that time. Post your progress.

Wicked bad storm headed this way, so the crew is getting ready to take shelter...I normally spray the decking and the underside of the table with insect killer a couple hours before they hunker down. Let the fumes clear, and any avoids any drips of the insect killer onto the plants from the underside of the table (although the tarp is pretty watertight and covers the entire top of the table). this is yet another reason to keep them growing horizontally so they’ll fit in there later on too.

here are some closeups. Each of them are developing flowering sites that woulda been buried by the canopy, a pair on each side of the stalk. I’ll hold off on any more LST until they can get another couple days of full sun under their belts, and then go gently, but persistently. Bend to my will they will...

Basking in the sun surrounded by aromatic plants that repel pests; basil, rosemary, cilantro, marigolds, alum (member of garlic family). Might work, might not, but I’ll get some great herbs (ha ha ha) out of it
Finally legal in Virginia. Somewhere on the So.Side. Girl Scout Cookies. First plants in many years. View attachment 4942633View attachment 4942634

Morning stretch. There are many developing flower sites along the main stalk that are in the sun all day long. I use the wooden BBQ skewers to push, gently, leaves out of the way.

Damn they look happy...the main stalks have grown long enuff to extend beyond the limit of the milk carton so I’ll affix wooden dowels to the crates and keep bending them over. Can probably get another 2 or 3 feet of horizontal growth, and it’ll be laden with flower sites exposed to direct sun. The sun hits them at around 0800, and travels directly overhead. if I happen to be home, I’ll flip them 180 degrees at noon so the main stalks get the benefit the of the setting sun. They are in the sun until around 2000. 12 hrs of uninterrupted direct sun, they are gonna explode, I hope...

They work well, and provide a little air space between the bottom of the pot and the surface on which it sits and also afford an opportunity to continue LST horizontally beyond the limit of the crate. I affixed some dowels to the tops of the milk crates to continue keeping the main stalks horizontal; also staked out some of the side branches developing flowers to the side so they get direct sun as well. I’m in week 1 of flower (Jack Herer Auto and Gelato Glue Auto), and I’ll keep training them until week 3 or 4 of flower, then let them rip. Breaking the apical dominance of growing one main cola more evenly provides auxins to the rest of the plant. Or something like that, I read it in a book once.

Had an intense storm last night, and the plants in bondage survived well. They’d have been pummeled otherwise. after a thorough watering from Mother Nature last nite, and a sunny day today they should really stretch out today. One of the main colas I bent over yesterday is ready to be bent down again...

They are looking great. What strain are you running? Sure is nice to see all these legal VA ladies.
I have two Jack Herer Auto and two Glue Gelato Auto growing. Have the same at my GFs house, but I’m letting them grow naturally just to see if the yields are substantially different. They are on the same feeding schedule, but mine get a couple more hours of sunlight per day. She doesn’t partake, but I’m using all my good BF points for a corner of her garden. I also helped a friend set up 4 Blue Mystic Autos yesterday in milk crates and I’ll lend a hand when those are ready to run horizontal.
