Looking into a few options to try on soil. Is Pro mix suitable to use by itself? If not what needs added? And if so, at what stage is best to use it?
There are a few types of promix l like the HP M version myself, white bale. The bx is ok with added perlite or as starter soil. But doesnt contain mycohoryzae! Hp m does.Looking into a few options to try on soil. Is Pro mix suitable to use by itself? If not what needs added? And if so, at what stage is best to use it?
The myco in HP is only rated for 6 months so I add some DynoMyco and water with some unfiltered dugout water as it has lots of goodies in it. I just got a fresh bale so going to use it for some plants that need up-potting.There are a few types of promix l like the HP M version myself, white bale. That's what the soil looks like I used for 2 out of my 4 plants. When I tested the soil ph a few weeks ago it was a 4- 4.5 acording to the soil meter. I added lime last week but so far the low ph doesn't seem to be having too much of a negative effect. I was using distilled and it tested 5-5.5, found out my tap is 7.0 so I just started using that hoping it would help the ph.The lime, dust and wetting agent is the starter charge, it's just trace nutrients introduced from manufacturing.
It's not like there are a lot of roots to feed at seedling stage.
ProMix is still so much better than some of the wretched potting soil some folks use...much of what they use is just partially composted wood chips with Tannic acid and pine tar still leaching.

Lmao. Yeah. I avoided buying one for the longest. When I learned soil has a ph seperate from water I got one out of curiosity. That's why I included in the post" according to the soil meter" because I'm sure it's off.Soil meter?
Not one of those green thermometer looking things is it? Those things are highly inaccurate at best
Check out 'bluelab soil pH pen'Lmao. Yeah. I avoided buying one for the longest. When I learned soil has a ph seperate from water I got one out of curiosity. That's why I included in the post" according to the soil meter" because I'm sure it's off.
Kings mix megacrop and ph downPromix and geoflora...thank me later
Hey handsome I'm in Canna Coco pith (and xlg perlite), and LOVE that shit. No breaking up bales or watering slowly. It's expensive but worth every penny to me.IMO fuck breaking up bales of promix. I too was growing in it 30yrs ago. Grew in it, that or sunshine mix for a long time if i wasnn’t growing in my tubes. Coco hit the scene i gravitated to it.
Nowadays I grow in a light soil amended with coco. After a couple waterings i treat it just like dirt. Kings Mix is my go to, if I can’t score that it’s 707. I aint got time to break up bales and i don’t got time to water them slowly at first and or add in a surfactant.

You should show the group a pic of your Wedding Cake
Ok let's whip it outHey you wut up?
what size pots you grow in?
2 gal pots is still pretty choice for the coco perlite combo imo. But i’d still, if i was you to make things easier on yourself, goto something like Tupur. It will do the same thing. Probably even cheaper and no mixing perlite with the coco. I sware i’m gonna end up dying from me not wearing a mask and cutting shit with perlite. I used to call it the white lung. Shit used to fuck me up.Ok let's whip it out
2 gallons is what I finish in. Now show me yours
I wear my respirator and glasses when I mix and with the XLG most of the powder stays at the bottom of the bag anyway. I run what I do because of heat issues. You really should show these guys your grow. You grow some of the loveliest plants in the nicest grow room I've ever seen.2 gal pots is still pretty choice for the coco perlite combo imo. I don't know. It's big#3 perlite was alright. I think #4 they consider chunky? Can’t remember.
#2 will give you the white lung
