I had some bad luck last year germinating old seeds collected from previous pot purchases. So this year I planted extra seeds to ensure I would have enough female plants to grow outside on my deck. I ended up with 14 plants - all grown from regular seeds. There were four different strains: Durban Poison, Thai Sativa, Denali and Manitoulin Dream. I assumed that about half of them would be male and half female. To my wonder and surprise I ended up with 14 female plants. I understand that this is possible but it is also highly unlikely assuming each plant had roughly a 50% chance of being male. Can anyone explain how this happened? Do you think it was something I did? I germinated the seeds using the paper towel method in April. I used Dutch Science Seed and Root Starter and then Grow Girls Grow for the veg stage. They were started under a blue grow light and then moved outside into utility pails in mid May. BTW I gave some of my seeds away to a friend and although he only started a few seeds, one of them was male.
