Buying indoor grow tent kit (all in one)

Im looking to start growing indoors for the first time since the summer is hell in the southeast (hot and humid w tons of rain). I dont know a ton about what all I need so Im wondering if Im wasting my money by purchasing a all in one grow tent kit (lights, fan, tent, ventilation etc) or if I should really piece it together?

Im hoping to do something like a 4x4 tent so I can fit 3 or max 4 autos in it. I dont know what watt LED light I need for that size?

If I buy an all in one kit off amazon by somone like Mars is that a reputable brand or is someone like Spyder farmer or Vivo sun better?

I dont want to break the bank on my first tent so I was hoping to find an all in one kit for around $750. At the same time I dont want to waste that money on a POS if its not decent quality.

Can anyone provide some insight if Im going about this all wrong or if there is a better way to piece one together like buying a cheap tent from amazon but buying a good lite from a specific distributor? Any help/ direction is greatly appreciated. This is going to be a huge learning curve since I have only done a few outdoor grows in the past.

Thanks alot for your help!

Kits usually have some crap items and stuff u don't need

Get a tent size u want
A good white light light
A decent fan

And parts a d stuff you need

Mars and Spyder are decent starter stuffs. Get a good, heavy tent, zippers tend to bleed light

Good, quiet , fan like an AC infinity, I have one, it's amazing

Good luck

For a 4x4 go with at least a 6 if not 8 inch infinity. I bought a 4 inch for my 4x4x7 and learned it wasn't nearly enough. You might consider learning in a 2x4x7 tent, less expensive and when when are ready to size up you will already have a seedling/veg tent. Good luck!

This one was nice
No, eww. Go To Mars Hydro store they have good tent that come with good lights. For like 600 bucks. Comes with cheap inline fan and carbon filter. I'm sure you could post those thing for sale to get money and upgrade to the AC Infinity fans.

Here you go

Edit: didn't read you whole post. Spider Farmer would be a better choice imo, but they don't sell any 4x4 kits. I don't have any experience with Vivosun but people seem to be happy with their new lights. Idk if they have 4x4 kits tho...

If your budget is around 750, you can piece it together with decent stuff... would suggest a slightly smaller tent and starting with one or two of the same plant. 2x4x7 or 32inx32x7 tent can be had for $80 or so. 6in AC infinity cloudline T6 with temp and humidity control - $150...ducting $20...if you need odor control you can throw a carbon filter (+$65) on the end but depending on the strain they may not smell at all during your grow. 3-4 oscillating or clip on fans for inside -$60, 35pint dehumidifier $200
That puts you at $450 so you have $300 to shop for a light with atleast 2.5x2.5 flower foootprint. Beyond that, you'll need a mechanical timer, surge protector, ext cords, bag o soil, couple pots and your nutes...that can run another $100

Thanks alot for breaking this down. Sorry I was not clear. My budget did not include growing supplies. I was just wanting to keep around $750 to start until I figure out what Im doing.
I actually have a couple dehumidifiers that work well in boxes now.

Thanks alot everyone!

Thank you.

Im not dead set on 4x4 I was just trying to give an aprox size I wanted but I could go bigger or smaller. In my case, likely bigger since i have a tendency to overdo everything lol.

Thanks for the info. I didnt think about the zipper part. If zippers tend to bleed do you reccomend something like velcro or is there another preferred type of seal? Very much appreciated!

Until I covered my window to block out light, I would put a sheet over the front of my tent to filter any light going into the tent through these tiny leaks...once the window was covered though, the entire room is kept dark, I've not had any problems with leaks. I still go in there several times a day and turn the light on or will even open the tent while they are in their dark period to refill humidifier, or adjust fans.

So I guess to help with your question, it can depend on how bright or dark the room where your tent it is.

Just watch what you are buying thats a 4x4 tent with a 2000 watt light actual wattage is 200. It will work fine in veg stage but bloom that 1 light won't be enough. So I would suggest maybe a smaller tent less money and buy an extra light.

It's a 300W light

Do you need a tent? A room is a lot nicer, if you can. A 4x8 room would leave room for the heat, dehumidifier, a/c, and you to work in there a bit.
