Indica? Sativa? C99?

Greeting RIU. I recently ordered some seeds from the vault and included with my order were 8 expert seeds C99 seeds. I was kinda skeptical of these seeds when they arrived in a little baggie with a sticker saying what they are but I started 4 of these freebies anyways and only 3 sprouted.

I know that Cindy 99 is mostly sativa but these leaves are telling me that these plants are indica or indica dominate.

Is it possible that C99 is not actually Cindy 99 but some other strain that im not aware of?
Can someone that has grown Cindy 99 confirm that she actually has wide fat leaves?
What's your opinion? Is this an indica or sativa?

Who knows what it is. There are reproductions of almost every strain out there. Some are going to be entirely different than the original despite starting out with the same genetic lineage and using the same name.

Just grow it out. More than likely you'll be happy with the end result.

Good luck.

Havent grown c99 myself, but have seeds from brothers grimm that in sprouting for my next run.

Anytime you buy seeds from someone other than the original breeder, it can look completely different even if its the same strain, effects and taste could be different too. Basically youre buying the breeders selection from the genetics.

So that could be c99, but its expert seeds selection from c99 genetics, not the brothers grimm selection or female seeds selection, etc.

So dont worry, grow it and im sure it will have something you were hoping for

I was planing on growing them out regardless of what they were. I can always use some more pratice as these will be my 3rd grow. I was mostly just looking for others opinions on if this is standard Cindy leaf structure cuz I sure haven't grown it before and if not then am I most likely looking at an indica or some other sativa. I know identifying strain from pics alone is near impossible. Thanks for your reply.

No I understand, wanting to know if you should expect a stretch and things like that. And effects wise if it will indica or sativa.

I mean we all know cindy is a sativa....but being its a different selection, they could have chosen an indica leaner purposely. Perhaps contacting expert seeds, sending a photo and asking if there are indica leaners in their c99, they should be able to give you information on what to expect.

Ah... Gotcha. Thank you for your advice and reply. I will probably do as you suggested and just hit up expert seeds, send some pics, and see if they have any ideas.

Actually I grew one in a small pot switched to 12/12 from seed a year or so ago and got about an ounce. It was good weed but it was also a freebie that I got from Seedsman. It probably wasn't the real thing and different than yours. It said C99 but I didn't really pay any attention to what they said it was. Unless it comes in a breeder pack from the original breeder you can't be sure what you're getting. Which brings up another issue. Many of the breeders of many strains are no longer with us, their genetics are lost or in the hand of just a few. Some strains like White Widow have close to 100 different versions from different people.

Also check out my Azure Haze.....i flipped to flower too early, expecting it to stretch....its a blueberry leaner with no stretch......the bottom leaves look indica, the top leaves look tropical sativa (thai)....have no idea what to expect effects wise.....i wouldnt call the smell from it blueberry, but it does smell blue if that makes sense lol.

You could of landed an odd ball pheno which is awesome. I currently have a sour diesel with the thinest leaves iv ever seen
I hope so lol its my first grow and i didnt clone anything though :(

The azure haze looks interesting....and my bubblegum s1 was flowered early alongside it...and is looking like an impressive yielding pheno with an interesting minty-sweet smell to it.....almost exactly how th seeds describes their keeper pheno.

Heres the bubblegum s1

I also have a post about these same plants in the problems sections. I was thinking I might have some type of mutation on my hands.

There are several leaves on just one of these plants that have leaves like this and its not even all of the leaves. I don't beleive its a nutrient issue cuz the other 2 arent showing this coloration and they get fed the same thing and same amounts.

It's some form of albinoism I believe iv read. I would have to re check though. It is possible for the plant to only cast half a different color. And not be a deficiency.

Ive said this in the "best blueberry" thread before.....if you have a mutant ass plant in blueberry genetics - THAT IS A KEEPER!

All the best blueberry phenos from the Blueberry Muffin Pheno to the Straight Blueberry to the Blueberry Syrup pheno.......they ALL have very odd deformities in the best smoking phenos.

Blueberry was my favorite all time smoke. I studied the shit out of the strain and watched 1000s of grows. Every single time the best smokes came from weird ass plants, while the normal ones which most ppl keep end up being less impressive.

And thats why we dont have great blueberry genetics (or as great as the original) anymore. Over time and through selection, the mutants were being eliminated from the strain....now theres still mutants, especially in crosses, but far less than the original blueberry had.
