Humidity jumped up by 30% after adding buds - what to do?

I've been monitoring the humidity in the cabinet that I'm looking to dry the buds in. Its always around 45-55%, usually around 50%. After adding my buds to it and closing the door, the humidity jumped to 77%. I opened the door and by the time I took pic it went down to 71%, but once its closed the humidity will skyrocket.

What should I do? I am terrified of rott, and I do want a good cure, I dont want to dry them too fast with a fan. I will be setting up a fan outside the cabinet as well.

It's gonna raise because of the moisture content of the buds. Just keep air gently moving, not directly blowing on the buds, and open the door now and then to exchange some air.

Is there a certain time limit I wouldn't want to leave my buds at a higher humidity without exchanging air? The humidity went up 20% in a matter of minutes, so if I have to leave my house for hours, I may have to darken everything around it... which isn't an easy task in my apartment

Any time even a few hrs at anything higher than 68% rh is going to end bad when hang drying

This is my first grow, so im just trying to get by, but I want to do it as best as I can. I dont want to paper bag them and call it a day. I'll monitor all day tomorrow and see how they are doing.

What is the RH naturally - outside the room. 71% would be a stifling humid day.

Not sure why you would put them in such a tight space to dry? That is just like putting them in a jar but much larger

That cabinet would be ok if you could control the air - if you cannot then it's a big jar.

I considered this would be a possibility, but I had to try it. I live in a small studio and don't have much place to dry it. Im still using the tent because I am staggering my harvest. My next alternative is to try and disperse it between that cabinet and another one in the kitchen that I could free up space temporarily.

RH inside the cabinet has been consistently 50%ish. Been monitoring it ocassionally for two weeks. Outside the cabinet wouldn't be much different, maybe 45%

Hang it in a box with holes cut in it for ventilation, you must have frequent air exchange.

Maybe run a dehu set at 55-60.

logic tells me that if the room is at 45% - enclosing it in any space would always be higher as the plant is releasing moisture. just hang it in the room.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I left the cabinet doors partially open and pointed a fan so that it would bounce off the open cabinet door and into the cabinet. The fan is on low and about 8ft away, so very mild draft, just enough to ensure continues fresh airflow.

Temperature is around 21C, unfortunately I can't get it any lower, but RH is at a perfect 55%. I guess I'll have to accept a bit of light leak

You need a small and dimmed exhaust fan to control moisture in a enclosed space.

You should build an exhaust which you can manually dim down or use with a hygrostat controller.

70% moisture is normal in the first few days. I would put some small fans blowing from the bottom of the compartment blowing up lightly on the buds, this prevents any bud rot.

The fan i have even from the location its in can create enough draft to make the nugs sway side to side on the string. I dont want the buds drying too fast, so I often open up the cabinet for a few hours and darken it with a blanket. Humidity has been 50% most of the time, sometimes peaking around 60%. I think it was only the first night that was an issue. I guess most of the moisture leaves sooner than later
