Re-Vegging clones - cut the Buds or not?

Hey there I’m currently trying to re-veg some clones (DrGT OG Kush) that I took in flower week 5..

There showing some first roots after 3 weeks in the aero cloner. Now I’m asking myself if I should cut the Buds to prevent themfrom molding.

I heard some different opinions, some say to cut them and some insist to not cut them because that were all the new stems are gonna come from.

Not 100% sure but it would throw allot of stress on the plants and you would have to nurse the hell out of it and it will prolly be a very long grow. Never heard of someone doing this, most ive heard of is taking a clone from a flowering plant and re-vegging those after they root. Like a 6 week process. Looking at the picture dont look like you have that option though lol

Idk, I read up on this and didn't see a word about the flower one way or the other. The pics of others I have seen, look like they are still there though. I should say that their buds were mostly pistils.

We have one from the "cut 'em" camp ...

If not, you will get overrun with branches. I didn't get that many more branches from this area as she continued to grow. A snip here and there and the manifold continued as normal.

This little waif ended up yielding about 6 oz. when all dried and cured.

FYI - that exact same waif approx. 16 days later:

You can't tell that this was a monster cropping. It looks like a normal manifold grow. But had I left the bud in tact, I would need to do a pretty major trim to keep this lady manageable.

I'd try to open the flower up as much as possible...more air flow...and wait until the funny looking branches start before removing too much...maybe a little here and there, but its best to wait a little longer or unless its going to or is causing mold problems.
Best of luck and happy growin' :P

Have a Dr Seedsman CBD and a Moby Dick clone that are now outside that will be interesting to watch grow Being monster crops themselves. My first outdoor grow was of a Fruity Pebbles clone that was a monster crop but she turned into a massive 6.5x6.5 beauty

Don't cut all the bud off that indeed is what becomes the new growth.

Once it gets going you can remove all the crap but not until imo.

Awesome replies!

So I think I will keep them as they are until the branching starts. I plan on keeping one as a mother and putting the other one in a 2x2 DWC Scrog.

How much branching are we talking? Maybe I can skip the topping and fill the screen only with those crazy monster cropping tentacles?

Can’t wait to get this grow going, its gonna be my first time growing hydroponic, first time monstercropping and first time Scrogging. What could possibly go wrong? At least I grew the pheno before.

Since I need at least 2 more weeks assembling my gear for the next run and I don’t want to put them in soil, do you guys think I could just let them revegg completely in the aero cloner? Just put in some 1/4 strength fertilizer if needed?

edit: and how the hell can I give comments a like in this forum? Been looking for that button for longer than I’m willing to admit. Can’t be that high.

They take a while to grow normal vegitation again it bit strange to begin with.
As for branching it depends, to get a true monster clone you need a formed bud 3+ weeks._20201119_193926.JPG
The above turned into below...

That's how branchy + more if you choose.

I'm doing one just now and I've only left 3 main branches.
