Let's see, mushrooms are fungi and they are saprophytes, so they must be living on something that was once alive and is providing nutrition and energy. There might be microbes on mars, but fungi are pretty complex cells.

I'll go with the theory that mars is sterile, until proven otherwise, large scale organisms are definitely out of the question and besides, fungi need oxygen to survive and that never happened on earth until around 2.7 billion years ago. Fungi are quite late in arriving on the evolutionary time line, for the first 3 billion years there wasn't life much more complex than simple bacteria. Fungi are eukaryotes and have a complex cellular organization.

But SpaceX doesn't have any plans to actually build a Mars base. As a transportation company, its only goal is to ferry cargo (and humans) to and from the Red Planet, facilitating the development of someone else's Mars base.

Teslas are cool, some great ideas in there. Elon is bad as a businessman/ceo IMHO, great as a visionary hype sales guy, but he is too erratic to run a large company.

That said, I like his terrible self, but can't point to a single reason why.

I can't think of many outside the tech (biotech as well...i guess) realm, but boy howdy do they have a bunch that fit that bill.

My pillow guy has been pretty lol in terms of companies that produce real goods and services.

Well, since demand in China is down just over 60%, not sure he really needs it. He's already halted the expansion of the China factory and delayed the completion of the German factory.

There is a lot of resistance in Europe from Major ICE auto manufacturers to a disruptive opponent like Tesla. They will pull out all the stops to try to slow Tesla down in Europe. Elon is about to upset their applecart...

Tesla has set a new official record for the fastest quarter-mile time of any production car in their new Model S Plaid.

The time was set on May 11, 2021 at the Autoclub Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, about four hours south of Tesla’s Fremont factory in California. According to a source who was at the event, the Midnight Silver Model S Plaid set an official time of 9.23 seconds with a trap speed of 152.16mph (244.88km/h).

That handily beats the previous record of 9.4 seconds held by the Bugatti Chiron Sport. At a base price of $3,260,000 USD ($3,946,000 CAD), the supercar is considerably more expensive than the Model S Plaid
