Your watering “around roots “ isn’t necessary, you should water more evenly and thoroughly thruout that container- not completely dripping with excess but more thoroughly so plant can access the nutes within medium.
FFOF will carry that plant for weeks all on its own.
Give it water ph matched to medium and let her do her thing. Then you can monitor how long it will take to water again … let plant show you not do it on your water schedule
I transplanted into 2 gallon pots just over 3 weeks ago and continued watering just around the roots. Could I have damaged the roots somehow by doing this, potentially causing this clawing?You're better off watering a couple of days earlier and allowing the soil to dry a bit before the transplant. It doesn't take long for the roots to spread out. Once they do it becomes harder to overwater.
