What's the benefit of dimmable led grow light?

Lower heat on hot days

. It doesn't mimic sunrise at all. More or less it mimicks shorter seasons. Dimming will make plants finish sooner.

If you are using the same light for veg. You can keep the light dimmed down the whole time. Plants use about 30% of the light in veg they use in flower.

Ah, I was recalling the advertising Kind LED put out. Again, Ive never had a need to use any dimmable setting.

Thanks for the info. I turned it down to 30% but my temps dropped to 63. So I turned it up to 70% to see where my temps land. With it at hundred percent my temps stay at 81 degrees. Going need to figure out a way keep my temps up when I go 12/12.

I dim down for young plant and increase 10% by 10% every week till stretching (20% 1st week...30% 2nd toll week five than 100% 1day 12/12!)
With cxb 3590 @1400mA...very good results in vegg this way (3500ºk!)
We will see later for bloom...58days from now!

I just got my galaxyhydro 300w full spec dim able grow light . And I want to know if I need to use the dimmer in different growth stage or just run 100% all the time.

Link to light. http://www.amazon.com/Galaxyhydro-Dimmable-Spectrum-Indoor-Growing/dp/B00NAPA7GE

Thanks
Supposedly it's to mimic sunrise/set.
I don't know about you, but I'm not in my tent tweaking my knob for a 1/2 hour twice a day (I have other places for that...)

I will confess that I tweak my knob down to 50% when I'm in there working - saves my eyes.
I give the knob another quick tweak back up while garden gazing.

There's nothing wrong with tweaking your knob a little bit now & then - just make sure you don't go blind! :bigjoint:

Hello,

My name is Dan and I am with Timber Grow Lights. We use dimmers, and RJ12 controller jacks, on all of our lights. Dimmers allow you to use one light for full cycle usage, since veg cycles require roughly 1/2 the amount of PPF as during flowering. Additionally, dimming LEDs increases efficiency, reduces heat and increases longevity of the LEDs. On our lights, all dimmers are able to be disconnected which will allow you to run the light slightly over advertised power and also is handy in the event of a dimmer failure, as all parts are user replaceable by design.

Lastly, the benefit to dimming LEDs vs HID style lights is that there is no chromatic shift (read: spectral distribution changes) as there are with HPS/MH style lighting.

If you have any additional questions, I am happy to assist.

Have a good day
Dan
