Another cop so radicalized that he has to Karen on video.
I would love to do a deep dive into that guys online activities. I bet the poor guy is getting trolled hard.

I sympathize with him in a sense. He's right, in that most cops are not Chauvin or that ahole in Colorado who laughed over his vid when it showed him maiming a sick elderly woman. OTOH, it doesn't matter to me who is good or who is bad. They protect each other with the same codes of silence used in crime gangs. So, it doesn't matter what he does, says or feels. I'm here to say that there are too many bad outcomes from police interactions. Because they band together, I hold them all responsible as co-conspirators. Some more than others.
The cop in that vid is frustrated and feels unheard. That can be remedied but he has to speak up along with others about their abusive, sadistic or racist peers before he will be taken seriously. At least that what he has to do if I'm going to take what he says without a large grain of salt, fwiw.
Personally, I don't think police reform is the answer because the macho, authoritarian, law and order type of cop is entrenched in this society. I think the answer is to take funds away from the police and put it into alternative programs that address the same problems that are linked to public safety.
I like most of the movies that Costner has been in (not Waterworld, uck) but this one was kind of disgusting to me:

that's why you heard that female cop keep trying to apologize that she 1) didn't jump into the thick of things trying to wrestle an old lady to the ground and hog tie her 2) her disgust at not liking 'the pop' when the other male cop was laughing..'here it comes..the pop! did you hear it?'
that town is the next town down from where i live..Loveland Colorado..yeah right + all these cops are nasty here in Colorado..so you know, i'm not even shocked.
we need for others to show up on calls that don't require a gun. this means we need to take money away from policing and re-distribute to new outside of law because after all who the hell needs this for $14 theft? i know they needed 3 officers to wrangle the old girl..
that female cop knew they were going to be in trouble she even said it on tape..she actually said a lot of things, i'm wondering now if she wasn't IA.

of course every state is different but for assault you have usually 3 years to prosecute someone just in case they're still receiving treatment from your assault. to put a price and settle through insurance (or go to court), you have to have a good picture of injury.

I agree with your assessment. It crossed my mind that the female cop was goading the sadistic cop into spilling the beans on a camera that she was fully aware of. If so, smart and good on her. The thing is, she will be in danger if she goes back on patrol and her colleagues suspect her of doing that. For that reason alone, well meaning people who are cops won't "snitch" (hate that word but that's the one her fellow cops would use) on the bad cops.
That all said, she was on the scene and participated in that beat down. There is no mention in that tape about her being hesitant, was there? Maybe I missed something. Her regrets came AFTER the incident and WHILE the battered shoplifter was in a cell, a short distance away. Why wasn't she seeing to the care of that battered woman? What I think comes from all of this is the woman leaves the force and the sadist is retained. Maybe times have changed and I'm again being cynical an wrong about the power of that video to change minds. Ten years ago, I have no doubt that is what happens.

Nobody in the FBI knew this guy was working as a cop? What about the FBI colleague he raped at knife point? Apparently the FBI didn't vette this clown either, maybe if he was busted for pot they would have taken a closer look. These people carry and use guns folks and have a lot of power and responsibility, if this guy can get hired, how many serial killers are LEOs?
