Quick question. Do dehumidifiers work better when in line with the actual bush of the plant? I had a humidity issue and got 2 dehumidifiers placed on the floor but they're doing practically nothing.
A 50-pint uses what, around 600watts? It shouldn't be a surprise to see increased heat with increased wattage. 1watt = 3.41 btu's.Same here, I had to return the small one I originally bought and had to get a 50pint. I got the Vermi 50pint and it kicks ass in my 4x4. The only thing is, it does vent out WARM air, so either be ready for a temp increase or do what I did and vent it out. I made a box that attaches to the exhaust of the dehumidifier with 6 inch ducting and it vents into a 6 inch carbon filter. Works great, but it was like 300$. Worth it, but a bit expensive if you're on a tight budget. Good luck!
That dehumidifier you have is a joke, return it if you can and get something decent. I personally put my dehuey outside of my tent, as I have a "lung room" for my tent.Quick question. I don't understand. If you vent out from the dehuey, aren't you just sending all of your dehumidified air away?View attachment 4890703
You can see the dehumidifier and the box with the ducting I made to vent out. This pic is a bit old, and since I got a 6inch carbon filter and connected it on the outside. If you don't use a a second filter for the dehumidifier and vent out, it WILL STINK, and make your first filter useless. This thing DOES keep the humidity down though.
My humidity was at 70-85% regularly and now I can keep it at anywhere from 35% and up if needed. Hope it helped!

I have a Vermi, but yeah, Its sucking all the humid air out of the tent and the dehumidified warm air is vented out into the room where the intake eventually sucks it back in after it has cooled off a bit... I tried having it in the tent and couldn't keep the temps down. I also tried it fully outside the tent and the humidity just wouldn't get below 58%, so I put it in and vented out and undoubtedly got the best outcome for my setup.I don't understand. But anyways, lol, yeah it pulls 570watts . My lights are only 480w so that seems pretty crazy now that I think about it but I guess it's the price I pay to play God and control the environment in the grow tent...
Yeah, mine pulls about the same wattage, but it's not running constantly either. I use mine outside of the tent, and generally set it for 5 to 10 RH lower than my max target RH (ie: if I want 50rh max in the tent, I set the dehuey for 40 rh). Like I said, you're walking the razor's edge. I've done full runs with no dehumidification; it's possible, but I wouldn't suggest it.with good air circulation you shuldnt get botrytis at 58% RH

I can't get my humidity that low in my sealed room when it's choking and nearly ready. Gets down to 60 - 65% and I rarely get Botrytis. Yields would be nowhere near what they are if my humidity was down at 40%.Like I said, you're walking the razor's edge.
