Hi guys it’s MrSTLgrowing and this is my first grow. Wanted to get some opinions on either growing mediums. And is it possible to do both simultaneously?

It is possibly but the rdwc will out grow you soil.
Have you looked into coco yet?

Soil would be more forgiving for a new grower, as long as you follow an established/proven recipe.

Established/proven recipe? Does the recipe/nutes depend on the strain? And how forgiving are we talking? Can I still yield good nug if I happen to make a few mistakes along the way? :wall:

If everything is on point soil can keep up with hydro. I'm generally further along then my ppl that grow my clones in hydro same clones. I'm just further along.

Yes depending on a variety of factors.
Trail and error seems to be the common denominator. I have definitely ran into some of those "varieties".
I choose to go with both RDWC and soil. I have had some pretty big uh-oh's. Gonna run un-amended soil on next run. Variety of factors have changed since last July including better quality Pheno's :bigjoint:

I would say soil for the ease of use.
Berger BM7 is something local for me I really like. It's peat, prelite and bark. Feed it with hydro nutes.
I feed with ro water
Armor SI ( mostly to buffer )
Foliage pro.
