Transplanted from bucket to tote...

Started with a 5 gallon bucket but my veg time went longer than anticipated and I didn't want to outgrow the bucket, so I moved it to a 17 gallon tote. I cut a hole in the lid for the net pot then another hole for access that i cover with some spare mylar tent material. I also cut some holes in the sides for the air line but that's it.

and now I have a couple questions:

1. How should I measure the nutrients when doing a top up since I don't have a reliable way to gauge how many gallons I need to add? I have a bunch of 1 gallon milk jugs that I use for various gardening things so I'm thinking I could just measure out 1 gallon at a time but something tells me there is a better way.

2. Should I throw a pump in the tote to keep everything mixed up? My concern is the roots getting caught up in the pump as they grow.

I also want to add that everyone is spot on when they say larger containers are far easier to deal with. Every time I've checked my water, it is on point. It's been 4 days since the transfer and pH and EC haven't budged, the plant is rocking and the water level is the only thing changing.

That's a good idea, thanks. I did make one single mark to indicate when it was full, but I didn't think to add individual marks. I'll have to pick up a new/2nd tote so I can make it right.

Well hot damn. That's a "DUH!" moment if I've ever had one. Thanks again.
i'm like a broken clock: right twice a day. so i'm done til tomorrow. lol
