When I go to top my plant can I maybe go a extra node down then clone the part I cut?...I hav 6 nodes now I was thinking maybe wait for another node then that way I enough excess to clone.

That way nothing goes to waste...and I hav another plant

Also anybody had any luck WITHOUT using any type of rooting gel or powder? If so how did you do it?
I have rockcubes readily available. Jus no gel or powder atm

Yes you can clone the top. Cut so that a node ends up at the bottom of the clone, below the surface of the grow medium.

Gel/powder is not absolutely necessary. It helps stimulate rooting to happen faster. If you keep it at good pH in the medium, good temps, (I have my heating mat set at 75f), good RH, and good lighting for clones, it will eventually grow roots.

Good light for clones means don't use nearly as much as you use for veg growth. You dont want to stimulate too much photosynthesis. Just use enough light so that it doesnt die. I usually use 4500k 105w cfl's for clones.

If you have access to an aloe vera plant, the gel from that plant can help rooting.

as above, you dont need them, water is just fine, just change the water in the cup dayly. i first got introduced to it by my girlfriendm, she just took the tops off of a few branches on my northan lights plant, filled a glass with water and put the glass on a north facing window, no direct sunlight .
you can cut a piece of card to go over a solo cup with two slots or holes in it and put it in a bathroom window or north facing window and or stick it under your grow light. they should take in 7 to 10 days

So weird you say that my hands are super dry from washing my hands (staying clean because of covid) and I was planning on getting a aloe plant for my hands...

Ok so cut atleast 2 nodes, one thats below the medium...which in this case im starting them in rockwool...and one that is goin to start the new growth ? Basically im jus cutting a little extra from my then a normal topping?

Ok one more thing kinda off topic but not really

I literally jus read this in a other forum from 2009 2 mins ago somebdy said you can take a clone and put it on a 12/12 cycle to discover the sex at a faster rate

Part of me says that makes sense another part says it doesn't lol

If the plant that the clone is taken from is a mature plant, then yes it can be flowered immediately. If you are taking the top from a young plant, it might not respond as quickly because the plant is not mature enough yet to flower.

At least one new growth shoot needs to be exposed, and one node needs to be below the surface of the medium. I always trim back excess leaves at any other exposed nodes.
