As I understood, in minnesota if the defendant caused someone's death while committing a crime they are guilty of murder wether they intended to kill the person or not.

The law is the law, so I cannot argue with the verdict, but that's fucking bizarre. Intent should always be the difference between murder and manslaughter.

nope..remanded to custody until at which time you hear 'not guilty'. an appeal takes time and i believe has to be accepted- you just don't get one, you have to apply for it and most states are like this.

i thought it was really weird how his eyes darted back and forth while the judge was reading the verdict. i can't figure out what he was looking at.

the jurors of all backgrounds, race and age had the courage to come together and do what the citizens wished they could have done that day (if only for the fear) and put this to rest- for all of us.

This doesn't have anything to do with the 6,000 cases of police brutality that were perpetrated on civilians last summer. Or the fact that fascists are still on the force and there has been little sign of change on the force.

Portland has a problem with fascists on the police force. It's been that way forever. If you want the protests to stop, then address that.

Yes I know you need to file an appeal same as here but wasn’t sure if you remained in custody or it was the courts discretion to allow you to leave custody as it is here.
