That means a cheap system will dump 3-4 gallons of water down the drain to make a single gallon of RO. That is horribly inefficient and wasteful. If you are only using 9 gallons per week you should just buy a jug dude. Hell, go to wal mart once or twice a month and just grab a few while you're doing some grocery shopping. Kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Save your money on an RO system until you're ready to get something of quality that will give you a 1:1 ratio so you're not dumping 3 or 4 gallons of water down the drain just to make a single gallon of RO when your needs increase. I own this which is a 150GPD water saver model for $265. I was unable to find another unit anywhere with matching specifications, quality, and price. I plumbed it to my kitchen sink with a tank and RO faucet as well as to a 1 gallon rubbermaid pitcher in my basement for drinking water. This is on top of my 3 32 gallon reservoirs on float valves. I get my money's worth out of the unitHave any of you seen, used or know anything about their Hydrologic 75 Compact RO System here?:

I love BRS. I order my Neptune brand PH probes from them. $75 each and I'd never buy another brand. Bullet proof reliable. Rapid response. It seems all of their gear is very high quality. The packaging that came with my RO unit was like something from NASA. It was very impressive how much care they put into transport of the unit to ensure it's safe arrival. The unit inside the packaging was just as impressive in quality and performance.
Compliments to you on the plus model! The TDS meter and pressure gauge are a very nice touch. They were out of stock on the plus model when I ordered mine so I was lucky they at least had the standard 150gpd water saver. That booster pump will get your production up nicely. The building never ends, right?
Check out BRS next time you're in the market. I've had my 150GPD water saver 1:1 model for nearly a year now and I haven't changed any filters. Still 0PPM. I go through around 100-120 gallons of water per week. I have changed the deionization resin once, but that's all. The water saver model has 2 RO membranes, a sediment filter, 2 carbon flocks, and a final deionization chamber. I can't say enough good things about the unit and the company that sells it. I looked at hydro logic when I was shopping and for some reason I opted against their unit. I can't recall why. It may have been the waste water to clean water ratio.
